My Sunday Photo ~ Back from London

Midge had a wonderful London trip with her school friends but she was very much missed by A and I. I took this adorable photo at half eleven at night, he couldn't sleep for excitement. It's now my absolute favourite photo.

Back to School

We're on day 4 of back to school here. The first day Midge made me all emotional  looking so grown up in her new uniform and not asking me to come into her class or anything. Little A went in absolutely fine and I was okay until I got half way home and felt totally alone without my little buddy! I was going to stop at the train station but felt weird, I wanted a Costa but I didn't want to spend my money so I went to sort my prescription and head home instead! When we collected them both after school, they had both had a great first day. Little A was knackered though, we had several melt downs but day 2 was perfect; a great day and no meltdowns after!

So yesterday Midge went off on her first back to school trip. They did  an activity day then stayed at school to camp on the field. I think she had a great time, it's a big step for Midge. Little A had Mummy and Daddy all to himself last night, although  he did  miss his big sister.

I want to be a superhero!

Next week things will properly start at school so we will see what level Midge is at with her books and see what spellings and maths work she's sent home with. They'll have a new project too I suspect. Little A will get his first book home, one with just pictures to start with I'd imagine but it'll be great because we love having books before bed. Me?  Well so I've far decorated our front room and need to finish the niggly bits like curtains and netting, then I'll start on the bathroom which needs a new lick of paint and a deep clean! I should imagine it'll look like we have a whole new house by the time next summer rolls round!

Our Week That Was Captured~Week 9 & 10

It's been a really tough week here. Don't get me wrong, I've had plenty of ups and things to smile about but it's been kind of emotional and I've not managed to keep up with things. A very dear member of our family was in hospital for a planned operation but unfortunately some complications arose. Long story short, everything is very much okay and we can all breathe a sigh of relief but it's been worrying, emotional. I'm tired. Of course there's other 'stuff' but that's all it is, 'stuff'. I'd like to recap on the last two weeks because I've been doing so well with my catch ups and I don't want to have any gaps!

Last week:

I introduced Little A to tree climbing which he absolutely loved. We had a Costa together at the end of the week and visited the library to return books and kill some time before nursery. Midge had world book day at school and added to the large collection of Elsa's in there! Sadly she was sent home at lunch because of earache which has bothered her somewhat over the weekend still.

I enjoyed a lovely coffee date with a friend and a little charity shop look about, although I didn't buy much, just a history book. I read a fantastic book I picked up from Costa's book corner, My Sisters Keeper. I read it in two days! I've written some happy mail which A helped me decorate and had a lovely box of chocolate eggs from my sister delivered which I'll be sharing with my Aunt as they're vegan Moo Free eggs. I spent several days seeing my mum because of hospital visits to see her Mum, my wonderful Gran who is now recovering well. She treated my two to doughnuts after school one day and I made us dinner several times. I may have had a few naughty take outs last week too- oops! The children made good use of their scooters and bikes this week, discovering a new path to school which included a rather big hill to go down rather fast!

The week before was a good week too, not so emotional! I got hooked on chocolate cornflake cakes, made homemade dinners and enjoyed yet another hot chocolate date with Little A before nursery. We enjoyed another library visit and he's been really getting into the environment there and loves popping in to see the children's corner.

I finished off a Harry Potter novel and picked up a new one I've not seen before, The Language of Flowers. Finally during this week, I had a GP visit where I lowered my medication for my anxiety and low moods. I feel pretty good about this and hopeful I can maybe be off them soon but for now I'm just focusing on the lower dose.

My Sunday Photo: Week 6

My Sunday Photo #1

I'm sure there are some people who will not find this funny, but as their Mother I'm afraid I find fighting over a sock and the shear drama on my daughters' face and my son looking so very pleased with himself, absolutely hilarious! The situation was remedied by handing over a pair of my new socks (just so you know I do solve these arugments, not just photograph them!)

Siblings in May!

A really lovely moment captured for this months Siblings post with Dear Beautiful. Last week both of my little sweeties came down with a random bout of sickness (random because they were only sick twice then perfectly fine!)

As they watched television and I tidied up the dining area, I looked across at Midge who brought Little A in a little closer and covered them both with a thick duvet. Little A shuffled around a bit to cosy up to his big sister and brought his blanket up to her shoulder for extra comfort like he does to his Daddy and I.

Precious moments indeed.

Siblings in April

It's currently the Easter holidays which hasn't seen us doing very much at all but what it has done is force my two little ones to actually play together throughout the day. Largely it's been a success! There has of course been the bickering and Little A still kicks off if things aren't quite going his way but we try not give in to him all the time because it's not fair on Midge. I think she doesn't particularly mind all the time however because he does makes some noise which we're all grateful to not hear anymore!

We've had some fun moments on the trampoline, digging in the garden, playing with play doh, walking into town and spending a day out with Grandma and Pops.

Yesterday was one of our 'sort of' quiet moments! I was trying to grab a lay in but these two monkeys didn't want to appreciate peace and quiet (do they ever?) and played hide and seek,pulled funny faces,striped off and ran around my room butt naked in little A's case too! I took this photo which I love. They're in the process of hiding under the covers. Midge is typically playing up to the camera!

The other photo I love is the one below of us all on the trampoline. We sat there for a while and I handed them their Easter gift from an Instagram swap I signed up to for them. Both were so excited by their gifts and sweet treats. It was a nice moment because it involved no squabbling over the items, not even once.

Siblings ~ February

At the weekend we went to my parents house which is very close to a beautiful beach. We went down to see the harbour empty of boats because of the awful weather. Little A and Midge enjoyed looking into the distance, watching the waves grow steadily more rough and peering over the walls to see the beach.

They both saw a boat that had been pulled in after getting damaged by the waves. A perfect photo opportunity.

Then they wanted to be higher up. I sat them down together to get a better view of the harbour. Another beautiful sibling photo.

Siblings {January}

I've seen lots of bloggers join in this link up so I hopped on over to Dear Beautiful Boy's blog where I've decided to also record the lovely moments, no matter how quick they are, especially by camera, because they really so special to capture and look back on.

A few weeks back I took Midge and A to watch Daddy play football. He has a lot if away games but this time he was at home and just up the road from us. It was cold but dry so we seized the moment and spent all day watching him play.

The children sat together at first watching the players run up and down the pitch. They hadn't been to a match for some time so were unsure about the noise and excitement and all the children who were also mucking about. I love this photo because it's as if they are sticking together, keeping close in their moment of uncertainty and taking in the environment.

It wasn't long however before they began playing around with footballs, twigs and big sticks building a 'den for dogs' and all matter of other wonderful imaginary games.

I have more opportunity than I realise to capture them together. I can't wait to see what I can put together for February and actually link it up this time!

My week That was Intsagrammed 10!

Last week was half term for many families and ours was no exception! Here's a round up of what we got up to:

There was birthday fun! I turned 24 last Tuesday and had such a wonderful present and family filled day. I got loads of cards too which made me so happy. We had birthday pancakes which is sort of a tradition here now!

I baked some awesome pasties for myself and Little A to eat at dinner. They were vegetable and sundried tomato pasties. I've just posted up the recipe here.

The prize I won with the lovely Bex arrived: a balloon Dracula! Just in time for Halloween which was very quiet with only one trick or treater! We also a got a little balloon Baboon too but he didn't last long once Little A got hold of him!

We had a very relaxing day last week where we stayed in our pjaramas and watched films. At one point we had the music channel on and both little ones were just going crazy so that's my crazy little A up there pulling some funky moves!

Of course, there was lots of snuggles too. I hope you all had a good week and are getting back intot he school routine painlessly.

Tots100 are hosting a pretty good competition at the moment and I thought I'd have a go, share a photo and see what happens!

Here is my beautiful twosome making some (very well timed) funny faces. Midge loves and cares for her brother like I never thought she would. I really was surprised how easily Little Man just slotted into our lives and how amazingly well Midge accepted him. This photo will never cease to make me giggle and is, perhaps obviously, my go to photo when the chips are down.
