My Week That Was ~ Week 15 ~ A to Z Challenge

I'm really late posting My Week That Was post but it's better late than never in my book! Last week was the last of the Easter holidays. I kicked off Monday well with a trip to Costa for the little ones. The staff there love my two and they love to be polite and help tidy their mugs and spoons away when we've finished. It's adorable.

We didn't do a lot last week so I won't break it all down into days a part from the weekend. We did a camp out in our lounge during the week, made homemade S'mores after a spontaneous trip to the supermarket and the children played out front on their bikes whilst I dug up some weeds and then sunned myself for a while!

At the weekend we visited my mums house where we chilled out for a few hours. I got to catch up with my parents, visit a charity shop there where I found several books I'd been after for ages and we went to the local beach with my sister for sand and sea fun (including chasing Midge around with seaweed!)

Beautiful sunset on Tuesday// Postcards and gift from my friend who was holidaying in New Zealand// Sunning myself in the garden// Homemade S'more// Friday morning photo by Midge// Hubby won the league on Saturday// My yummy dessert on Saturday// Playing at the beach// My babies and me at the harbour

Such a good way to end the week. Hope yours was good too.

My Week That Was Captured ~ Week 7

This week went so fast! I woke up on Monday determined to not hate the day as I always dread Monday's! I'm pleased to say that it paid off. I was calmer on the school run and had a lovely nursery run with Little A later on. School runs are very hard with A and his SPD as he's so distracted by literally everything! In the afternoon I took A to nursery with a hot chocolate in hand as he enjoyed a cookie and on the way back I enjoyed looking in some charity shops where I found a few bargains. I later baked some yummy cookies which I enjoyed munching in front of the TV!

Tuesday just couldn't be another Monday sadly. It was a long day and A didn't sleep well so I kept him home from nursery today. We had lots of cuddles and he tried out his new sensory necklace. I don't think I'm getting the dummy off him anytime soon which is a real pain because of his age!

Posting happy mail// Smiley boy// Cookie munching// New bargain plate find// Home baking!// School run hot chocolate//  Tired cuddles on Tuesday// Playing cars//  Hiding behind Olaf

On Wednesday I stayed out with A after dropping Midge off. He was a little grumpy but I had to get some bits from town. We went into Costa where A played with his new digger and I had a hot chocolate. We then went to the library where we spent half an hour going through children's books before watching our regular train and heading to nursery. The rest of the day was just usual pottering about with nothing much exciting.

On Thursday morning after dropping off Midge, A and I went a different way home and found some chalk pictures some children had drawn. I thought it was really cool and reminded me of how much fun that activity is. We had a bit of a stand off but I won eventually (or maybe he did because we had to go his way home which was the long way *sigh*) my Mum popped over later on and we did the school run together before heading home and having dinner together. She stayed until 8pm which was nice.

Costa with Little Man// Playing not eating// At the library// Stubborn man// Girls are the best!// Cute chalk art// Healthy porridge// Trains// Very tired boy

On Friday I didn't have to do the school run because A's new bed was meant to be arriving early. Midge went to breakfast club and I stayed in all morning waiting for this bed...it didn't come until 3pm when it should have arrived at 9am! Least I wasn't paying delivery that's all I could say. I was also lucky that because A had such a disturbed night and had conked out on the sofa I decided to give him early half term. Jay picked Midge up and because A had brightened up we all headed off to my youngest nieces' 3rd birthday party at a soft play center. She had an amazing time and so did all the children. The cake was amazing!

On Saturday we went to a local restaurant and had a big breakfast with Jays family which was so good. I was so full for the rest of the day! A did really well but it's not his ideal environment. Afterwards, Jay went to play football and stayed home getting the children some water play set up and I read a book and sorted A's room. Nothing happened for valentines, The first time we didn't bother and it was fine. I did do hubby a card and he bought mine but forgot to write it ha!

New book// Testing out his new sensory chew// Valentines cupcake made in nursery// T on the slides// Olaf cake!// Spinning fun// Blowing out her candles// Pretty birthday girl at breakfast// Creamy chicken on some weird pasta!

Hope you all had a good week! Next week is half term. My niece is having a sleep over, Midge has requested an indoor picnic and I'm hoping to do some messy play.

Our Week That Was Captured #3

Last week was a difficult week. It started with Monday turning up at a last minute dental appointment to have a look at a filling put in 4 days earlier. This was cancelled and moved to a later time so I got on with my day heading to my appointment later. 3 numbing injections later I was still in a lot of discomfort. Turns out the first filling was irritating my nerves and that the dentist had placed it too deep. Needless to say I left very unhappy and in a lot of pain!

I still felt bad on Tuesday but it was to be expected. I got hardly any sleep and couldn't even muster the enthusiasm to plan Midges birthday. I simply did as little as possible, lived off painkillers and sat on the sofa! I obviously had school runs to do and Little A had fun on his bike. By Wednesday things were a little easier. I don't recall doing anything other than plodding about though! I planned exactly what was happening with the birthday girl and oh yes, I managed a Costa. The wrap was lovely but the sweet hot chocolate was over ambitious!

Thursday I zipped about with my mum doing dump runs and charity shop drop offs. That felt good. My house still needs emptying but it's lighter than before! We had some fun in the evening chatting and messing about with my Kawaii box glasses (mum took her first selfie!) we enjoyed soup for tea, yum yum.

On Friday Kat arrived! We headed to Pizza Hut with Midge and her cousin and met with a friend and her daughter. I got to have a chicken pizza which was delicious! The girls had a great time too. I also got my hair cut much shorter, a relief.

Saturday was birthday time! I stayed home with Kat, Little A and the beautiful baby girl whilst Jay took Midge and G to soft play for a few hours. We enjoyed cake and a sort of family meal out at Weatherspoons for dinner. Lovely!

Terrible tooth pain// Book no.2 of 26 Books// Recovering silliness// At the hairdressers//Little A greets T with cuddles// Pizza Hut fun// Birthday cake!// A big thumbs up from soft play// Saying by this beauty

This week I have my follow up at the dentist which terrifies me; I've hardly slept. Soon it'll be done though. It's hubbies 25th birthday at the weekend, so there'll be cake and football no doubt! Until then :)

Our Week That was Captured (Week 5-01-2015)

This week was the first week back to school. Hubby has been working lates and the children have certainly felt the sudden change in routine too! Still, it's been a pleasant week, here's what we got up to:

It's been freezing cold here in Cornwall this week but on Tuesday (the only day!) there was a glorious sun and spring feeling in the air. I got my feet out for the first time in months!

I enjoyed my first Costa in 2 weeks. I'm cutting right back on these treats to save money but I enjoyed this treat from Hubby.

Before I endured the dentist,The Hubby treated Little A and I to a Weatherspoons breakfast which was delicious. We mooched around town before grabbing a taxi to nursery as we ran a little late!

Then of course I had to endure my dentist trip which was very uncomfortable. I still have toothache 4 days after and I blame the act of trying to do drilling with no numbing- the arse! I am grateful though, don't get me wrong!

Little A took his balance bike out on the nursery runs this week and had a great time!

We did our usual train watching as we do everyday. It's also expanded to watch any diggers we may see too *sigh*

On Saturday I arranged a surprise date night for Hubby and I. Midge has now instructed us to go away for a night so grandma can babysit!

Midge and Little A played dress up most of Saturday so I baked some Udis packet brownies. Total cheat and mine are actually better because I know the measurements but packet ones are so much more chocolaty and I was craving that!

I got some happy mail at last! January's Kawaii box and post from a friend which included a lovely mini cupcake diary. Perfect for me Id say!

It was incredibly spring like on Tuesday, I got to bring my pumps out!// My December Kawaii box finally came// Hubbies hot chocolate at Weatherspoons//Little A wanting to take photos// My first Costa in 2 weeks!// After my rather big filling at the dentist (it still hurts now)// Riding his balance bike to school// Little A and Mummy 'selfie' time// Date night surprise dinner// Hubby happy with his meal// I baked brownies on Saturday whilst Midge and A played dress up// New diary from my friend

Next week Midge turns 7 and has her first proper school trip on Tuesday where she leaves in the morning and won't return until the evening: exciting! I'm hoping my friend visits but she's been a little poorly lately and so have her brood, so I won't get too excited just yet. I hope you've all had a good first week/second week (whatever!) into 2015 and do share any good moments with me or link up with Hannah too (by clicking the badge on this post)

Our Week That Was: Christmas 2014

Well there's another Christmas done and dusted! I really enjoyed our family Christmas this year and the countdown to it more than I think I have before actually. On the Monday we made homemade lanterns and had a super lazy day. It was just my little ones and me because Jay had to work until 9pm. I do hate Mondays but you can't always sulk can you! We also sat down and wrote our letters to Father Christmas. Midge took great care with her letter, Little A did a nice big scribble having not mastered any writing skills whatsoever just yet, even I had to write a letter to Father Christmas and I've not done that in years! I'm glad I did because it showed Midge how you should write a letter, not just dive in asking for this, that and the other!

Tuesday was what we in the Cupcake House refer to as 'Christmas Eve, Eve.' My Mum came over which the children loved. We did some shopping for food in the morning, just grabbing a few bits then again in the afternoon when Grandma arrived we added the bits we couldn't find locally. All stocked up we went home for a picky tea and then pulled on all our warm clothes for our traditional neighbourhood walk, where we look at all the pretty Christmas lights that our neighbours put up every year. Snowmen that light up, trains in windows, outdoor trees and roofs covered in lights- just amazing!

Homemade lanterns// writing to Father Christmas// Hanging out with a snowman// Lights in a neighbours window

Wednesday was Christmas Eve and it was actually a very calm affair! The previous night I had placed the teddy elves from our small tree underneath our larger tree and sat behind them were 2 gift bags. I love doing Christmas Eve gift bags because the children are occupied whilst I get on with things. They had a craft, some pajamas, a new Christmas DVD, a treat box and an activity book (all from poundland bar the pj's!) I sat with them and made the Christmas trees because Little A found them a little difficult but I really didn't mind. Hubby finished work at 1.00pm and family arrived at 2.00pm, by which time I had laid out a spread on the dinner table, including fondue set with strawberries and marshmallows!

Snowman part 2// Little A's Christmas tree// Midges tree//Mummy's sweets!

Christmas Eve spread// Fondue with treats// Resisting temptation (not)// My Mummy!// Strawberry covered in chocolate

Christmas Day was an unusual one and not the one I expected. The morning was fantastic with all of us opening our stockings in my bedroom followed by the children finding Father Christmas's footprints in our front room (actually from the front door to his mince pies to be exact!) We opened our presents and had a yummy breakfast before different members of the family arrived here and there. My parents and sister arrived which was lovely but as the day went on it wasn't very festive. Dinner was incredibly late and Little A gave me a few anxious hours with his croup, which just came out of no where. We did have a delicious dinner and went to bed very full and exhausted!

Gift bags under the tree// Santas footprints// Very full tree// Presents having a break// Pudding// Playing Nicely

Queen Elsa visits on Christmas Day// Cheeky couple photo for Instagram// Power Ranger A!// Up later with the family after waking poorly// Hot chocolates have been popular// Catching up with my favourite wizard

We've spent the time since then playing with new toys, dressing up and going nuts on scooters (the little ones) eating a lot of chocolate of the American variety (Hubby) and reading, drinking hot chocolate and catching up with my penpals ready for the New Year (me). Phew, what a week! I hope it was a good one for you too lovely readers. Next week, I'm celebrating New Years with my parents and babies. It'll be odd not being with Hubby...I don't have any other plans because I'll be mentally preparing for those blasted school runs!!

My Week that was Captured #8

Hey, it's that time of the week again where we look back at all the things we got up to. I really need to snap more photos!

This week:

I visited the local library and found a book by my favourite author that I haven't read yet. I also found a craft book for the little ones. I visited the library after a huge cleaning spree (you wouldn't bloody know it now though!) I'm pleased my growing Care Bear collection is now safe in my bedroom!

I treated myself to a orange hot chocolate and found some mini bakewells suitable for my dairy and gluten free diet. I do love Costa.

I visited a charity store this week, only the one because I had my niece and she wasn't happy in her buggy on this occasion! I snapped up a book (again by Phillipa Gregory) and a gorgeous ornament of London. I love London but I've never been properly!!

On our weekly food shop I discovered some delicious sorbet and watched Little A enjoy his Thomas Ride. We had to buy crisps and a large yogurt on the way around because he decided he was so, incredibly hungry! Bless him.

On Friday, Midge had a non uniform day with a 'grow' theme so we dressed her up in some normal clothes and I painted a flower on her face. She loved it and Little A had his very first face paint too, a small sun on his cheek!

I painted my nails a beautiful purple and added a bit of sparkle. A nice bit of 'me' time.

My Mum came over on Saturday for the evening which was nice as Jason went out with a friend. My two looked out of the window waiting for Grandma to arrive and later on had snuggles watching Monsters Inc. How sweet.

My Week that was Captured!

I've not joined in My Week That Was Captured for a while and I miss reading my blog and not seeing what we've been up to lately! It's amazing how quick the weeks go by and how quickly I forget recent goings on.

So, last week:

After my Sleep-out with Kat, I came back to Cornwall with her and her boys which was lovely. On Monday she left for home which was a bit sad but we'll see each other in June for a bloggers meet up in Exeter: woo! After we said goodbye I took Little A to Costa for some quality time and met up with my mum.

I've been cleaning a heck of a lot. I've lost count of the donated charity bags and junk filled black bags for the tip/bin! House is no where near where I'd like it!

I met a friend for half an hour and we went to a local beach for a chat. The cafe was closed so we took in the fresh air, caught up and took some lovely seaside photos instead.

I signed up for a South West blog meet. My first one!

Before our usual boring old food shop we bought some mid morning snacks from the bakery. Little A polished off a cake pop then stole his Dads large Cornish pasty on the bus!

To end the week, we watched Daddy play football (sadly due to an injury he didn't stay on that long but the match was good anyway) Midge stayed for chip butties at the club whilst I took A home (anxiety grr!) on Sunday we had a lovely family breakfast. I forgot my phone so no photos!

My Week that was Captured #6

Welcome to another week people! This week I've got a Mum date at Costa in Penzance (wooh!) and on Friday I'm giving blood. Here's what I got up to last week:

We checked out Penzance after some seriously big waves hit it (74 feet high!)

I lit a candle for Matilda Mae like many, many others did.

We ate some seriously good chips for lunch which tasted good! Warmed us up a treat too!

I had an appointment at the hospital to sort this darn wisdom tooth. I'll have an appointment soon to get it out. I treated Mum to a hot chocolate out which she loved.

Jay and I made pasties for Saturday night. We ate with the children then watched a film for our weekly date night treat.

I bought Jay one of his favourite cakes as a small act of kindness

We visited some friends who gave me their money off coupons for Costa *happy dance!*

There may have been some very sleepy snuggles!

I also caught up on some more pen pal replies

Hope you all had a great week.

My Week That Was Captured #4 & #5

After missing the link up last week I return this week with my week 4 and my week 5 photos!

Last week we:

Had a yummy breakfast out with Little A, Hubby, my youngest niece and sister in law

Celebrated hubby's 24th birthday with a slightly odd looking cake decorated with yummy vanilla icing and homemade chocolate

Went out to a party thrown as a surprise by Jason's football team for him and his managers birthday. I was so nervous but it was ok!

Bought new shoes ohh!

Went to Penzance all by myself on the train which was a nice treat. I went there to buy Jason's birthday gifts on Monday morning but naturally I had to buy the shoes and jeans that were staring  me in the face (in the sale!)

Enjoyed a few costa hot chocolates (yes they now know exactly what I'm going to order..I'll have to add a different syrup next time to make myself feel less addicted)

Painted my nails and pampered myself for Saturdays evening out

Here's what I got up to this week:

Got stuck in to my reviews with books and chocolate making on the list! Little A really loved the books we've been sent so I can't wait to publish the review next week.

Had a wonderful weekend away with Jason in Plymouth (okay just Sunday but it was lovely) the hotel was really nice and we even got to have some dinner together.

I bought my first ever Psychology Mag which I wish I bought sooner!

Tried a Starbucks for the second time. Costa still wins for me but sadly I couldn't get one because it was a self service machine with no soya milk!

My Week That was Instagrammed #3

I said I wasn't going to join in this week with my week that was but I've decided I kind of miss it now it's not up here! We all hand a pants week last week with work problems, feeling unwell and my anxiety reaching quite a horrible point at the weekend that I considered writing it off completely. Now I look back we did have a few good bits thrown in there.

We went puddle jumping with Midge and Little As cousin T. They both loved splashing, we all loved the fresh air the trees and the horses too.

Jason took midge and A out on Saturday morning and I could hear my name bring called from outside. They had all gone jumping in muddy puddles in the ally behind our house and I could see them from our skylight waving and having fun.

I read an excellent book called The Girl Who Came Home, a novel based on the Titanic. I'm on my second book of 2014 now and hoping to reach 30 or more by the end of the year!

On Saturday afternoon we watched Jason play football. The little ones watched for a while before playing with a bunch of fallen twigs and tress. They built dens and stuck twigs in the mud. Good old fashion fun! I hit to watch the team play and whoop butt which is unused for me as it's usually more stressful!

It's not all doom and gloom now is it?

My Week That Was Instagrammed 2014 #1

This week we:

Saw the New Year in rather disorganised to be honest! We were watching the London countdown one minute and the next we heard a massive bang. It was so close to our house though and we didn't think it was fireworks as didn't see much else! As soon as we got in the front door we realised it had struck midnight, there was a massive crash of thunder and the heaviest downpour of rain I've ever seen! Little A woke up very soon after and I was miffed because yet again, I had missed the countdown! A stayed up until 2am with Jay and I went to sleep grumpy ha!

I've been letter writing again! The festive period is so busy you begin to see your mail slow down and it's rather rubbish to be honest but totally understandable. I'm pleased that I have recently posted some letters and received a couple too.

We've been to a birthday party for Midges friend. The girls had facials, face paints and their nails painted as well as birthday cake and party food. It was a lovely day.

I've started buying those birthday gifts in for Midges 6th birthday in 2 weeks. The photo above is of her brand new lunchbox. I can't wait until she opens it!

I may have visited the sales...I bought birthday presents, a notebook, a beautiful necklace, some home stuff and a new pair of jeans.

Jason made us fish and chips on Saturday night and I perfected my Yorkshire puddings!!

Finally I've made big plans! I'm going on a Mothers retreat in February, I'm staying with my beautiful friend Kat in March and giving blood in April as part of my Project Kindness- wish me luck I'm needle phobic!

Do link up with the wonderful Hannah by clicking the badge below. Hope you had a good week folks!

Our Week That was Christmas!

Oh Christmas! It came and went pretty quick didn't it? I spent a good couple of months preparing for Christmas gift wise so I was able to relax and avoid the crowds. We did the food shop a few days early and although packed and slightly over budget, I was still pretty pleased with the outcome!

Christmas Eve was a quiet affair with me, Jay and the little ones. The day before we treated the children to a meal out and then walked the long way home taking in the beautiful light decorations around our area. Some people make such an effort. We'll make this our new tradition I think, it was so nice and we all felt rather festive.

After the little ones had scattered their reindeer dust and were tucked up in bed with their new pjs on from the elves,Christmas Eve prep began. We prepped our vegetables and double checked everything was in order for our first year of hosting Christmas.
After double checking everything, we placed the gifts under the tree, stuffed the stockings and did a few little extras to make Christmas morning that little bit more special.

We woke at 8am Christmas morning to midge and A dumping stocking fillers on our laps and shrieking with joy at their generous loot from Santa! It was lovely! Even jay and I enjoyed our stocking fillers.

Santa had made quite a mess downstairs with his sparkly, snowy boots (thanks Santa!) but the tree was bursting with gifts. We all had 8/9 gifts each and opened them all in a few hours. We had a delicious family breakfast before starting to cook the first Christmas dinner in our new home.

We saw Nanny and Grandad briefly who dropped off some more gifts and cards. We shared a drink and a chat before getting on with our cooking and them getting on with their Christmas deliveries (there's a lot of grandchildren on Jays side!)
My family (mum, dad and younger brother and sister) turned up around 2pm. Dinner was ready for 4pm and if I may say so myself, it was SO good!

The children had a good sleep that night ready for Boxing Day with their cousins. We pulled off our first family Christmas without a hitch and had a wonderful day.

Do leave me a link to your Christmas blog posts! Happy New Year to all Cupcake Mumma readers!

My Week That was Instagrammed #16

Last week we:

Had plenty of cuddles and tickle time which left us with some epic 'bed hair.'

Ate double chocolate muffins for breakfast! It's nearly Christmas, if you're on a diet I feel sorry for you!

I bought this gorgeous hazelnut syrup to add to my hot chocolate. It's definitely saved me a few pennies because I only visited Costa once last week and zero times so far this week! When I get an orange flavour I can totally give up Costa..sorry!

I donned the ace Christmas jumper my Mum bought me for the festive season- I love it!

I baked some mince pies and thought I'd do them a little different by adding hearts instead of closed tops. They tasted so good and definitely got me in the festive spirit/ Little Man ate half of almost every one so effectively left me the scraps!

I posted off my last gift for my Year in Gifts project.

I had my one and only Costa of the week(chocolate orange of course)

Baked cakes with my Mum on a night she stayed for tea

And received this ace card from the lovely Bex. Thank you so much!

Hope you're having a good week and have an absolutely wonderful Christmas!

My Week That was Instagrammed! #15

I've got lots of photos to show off this week for my week that was post. Last week was a busy week which ended in a stomach bug for everyone. Thankfully we're all better now though!

This week:

A was the first to get poorly so we had lots of cuddles and plenty of sleep for a couple of days. I love snapping pictures of him sound asleep.

I got a new tablet in the post and as soon as I got it, Hubby downloaded a football game which I caught Little A playing. I think he scored a few goals!

We had six little ones altogether last week and it was full on but not bad at all. I wouldn't want a big family though! Little T had a cold but she still let me take a photo.

I was so pre-occupied I missed both a dental and GP appointment- naughty! I've now caught up on both, one of which I always carry my trusty ant-bac soap with me to!

I went to visit the school do see the big light switch on. Midge and I made this angel peg doll before school for the tree.

I had a sneaky Costa hot chocolate on one very cold school run. Hubby (in the green) made the local paper with his football team. Little A enjoyed a day out and I treated Midge to a mini hot chocolate with marshmallows.

This collage is more weekend focused.

Mum came over on Saturday and treated the children and I to Pizza Hut! Little A and I sat snapping photos of each other.

Midge and Grandma had a lovely time together, I love this photo so much.

Midge used a gift voucher from her Great Grandparents to buy a Hello Kitty bag. Little A bought a toy fire truck with his one.

We walked into the town center which was decorated with reindeer's and Christmas trees and Midge had to have her photo taken next to a tree! We then walked to the cathedral where we lit candles and walked around admiring the beauty of the building. We saw a sculpture of a homeless man which looked so real.

Little A met and then proceeded leap on a man dressed as a lion at the indoor market- it was so cute!

My delicious pizza. Never have anchovies though, this ruined it completely but I'd never tried them before so thought why not?

On Sunday we put the Christmas tree up and went to Wetherspoons for a big breakfast. It sure was nice to round off the week as a family at breakfast.

Hope your week was less hectic but still enjoyable!

This week:

We put up a few decorations to make the home a little more festive. I haven't put up the tree because this week there will be 3 older children, 2 toddlers and 3 adults living in my house for 3 days so we need the space!

Midge got some lovely shoes to review and so far they are proving very comfy indeed!

I ate a good few chocolate mug cakes when I got my chocolate craving but had none in!

We visited Costa and I finally managed to drink something other than frozen fruits or water! I had a delicious soya hot chocolate and Little A enjoyed their ice cold juice drinks. I loved it so much I had 3 in one week! Won't be doing it this week though.

I baked a few things last week but my favourite bake was when my Mum came over for dinner and we whipped up some vanilla blueberry cupcakes. They were gone within minutes! I had a lovely evening with my Mum. I also had my dad over on Friday night and I baked him a lovely chocolate cake for his birthday.

Finally, my one piece of happy mail last week was my rather lovely new phone case. I'm in love with a phone case!

Hope you all had a lovely week too!

This week:

Little A and I stayed home with Daddy to snuggle down and watch some television before Little A's auntie and baby cousin came over to have some fun. Us adults chatted and had a laugh while the little ones played and occasionally did sweet things like hug and hold each other.

I baked some lovely free from flapjacks which were gone in seconds. They are so easy to make!

We felt a little Christmassy on Thursday so lit a candle which reminds me of candy canes! I bought some of those come to think of it! I may have also popped up a little 'Noel' sign on my fire place!

We watched the light switch on in town on Saturday. It was very crowded and I didn't see much. We met up with Jays sister in law and all the children which was nice and all caught a taxi back to our place. Titan the robot was turning on the lights this year and Jay got this pretty good photo of him.

I made a big mistake and nodded off for 5 minutes. Little A proceeded to draw on my face without me feeling a thing! To add insult to injury they stood and laughed at me as I wiped it off my face in the shower- toerags!!

I ordered a beautiful new broach from a lovely lady on Etsy. It's a real acorn stem with a felted acorn sitting inside the cup. I've pinned it to my handbag and love it very much.

Finally, I caught Little A stealing a big bar of chocolate from the cabinet. He's sitting down enjoying his loot in front of Sponge Bob ruddy Square Pants!!

Hope you had a great week and have an even better one this week.

My Week That was Instagrammed #12

This week involved:

1) Lots of lovely letters from my pen friends. This letter was filled with cute bunny note slips and stamps were stuck to the paper- I love stamps.

2) Doing some jobs around the house. All that's needed in the lounge are some curtains- I'm freezing! My Mum is making them for us as a joint Christmas present so I'll have to freeze for a bit longer. I moved the whole room around and it feels more 'homely'. Next is the dining room which is my nightmare!

3) I went to town with Little A and Jay so he could do his Christmas shopping (very early for him but he had a lucky win on a scratchcard) We bought a Christmas cookie and a marshmallow ice cream for Little A before doing our weekly food shop.

4) I had some tired snuggles with Little A again this week.

5) Children In Need came around quickly again and this years school theme was 'dress as a hero.' Midge decided to dress as a Police officer so that's what we did. She looks so grown up!

6) I baked gluten free soda bread yum!

7) My Dad bought me this candle recently. I love it because it's all Christmassy. I took it out of its packaging and have displayed it on my fire place- it looks lovely!

There's my week! I hope you all had a lovely week too.

My Week That Was Instagrammed 11!

This week has been a mixed bag. I've been so tired I could barely keep my eyes open on occasions but then we had an unexpected nights sleep which did so much to lift my spirits. I really am useless on little to no sleep!

1. On Saturday we had all our nieces and nephews over (4 in total) plus my two as my sister in law was having a quick operation in the local hospital. We spent most of the day together and what was meant to be a duvet day soon turned into a painting, shopping, crafting, police role playing, wrestling day! Luckily on Friday we had a decent kip so I had a lot more energy than I have had!

2. I won some wellies on a bidding site for an auction to raise funds for The Lullaby Trust in memory of Matilda Mae. My wellies were worth every penny and signed by Angelica Bell (Hubby used to fancy the pants off her when he was younger!)

3. Little A enjoyed hanging out with his baby cousin. I got out the plastic buggies and he started to push her around which was ever so funny to watch.

4. We said goodbye to our very much loved second hamster Maisy. In the picture above we were having snuggles, she was alive but very sick. I'm still really sad about her passing because we hadn't had her for long.

5. My cousin sent a parcel over from Thailand months ago and I finally got it back from the old house. She had written me a letter, a postcard, packed in a small elephant incense holder and sent the children some hand crafted pencils, as well as a few gifts for other members of the family.

6. Finally, Midge has gone up again in her reading which pleases me so, so much. She's struggling a little because the words are obviously a little more challenging but we're making such good progress. Her teachers are really pleased with her reading but say she struggles a lot with maths, so that's my next port of call!

Hope you had a lovely week too!

My week That was Intsagrammed 10!

Last week was half term for many families and ours was no exception! Here's a round up of what we got up to:

There was birthday fun! I turned 24 last Tuesday and had such a wonderful present and family filled day. I got loads of cards too which made me so happy. We had birthday pancakes which is sort of a tradition here now!

I baked some awesome pasties for myself and Little A to eat at dinner. They were vegetable and sundried tomato pasties. I've just posted up the recipe here.

The prize I won with the lovely Bex arrived: a balloon Dracula! Just in time for Halloween which was very quiet with only one trick or treater! We also a got a little balloon Baboon too but he didn't last long once Little A got hold of him!

We had a very relaxing day last week where we stayed in our pjaramas and watched films. At one point we had the music channel on and both little ones were just going crazy so that's my crazy little A up there pulling some funky moves!

Of course, there was lots of snuggles too. I hope you all had a good week and are getting back intot he school routine painlessly.

My Week That Was Instagrammed 9!

Last week was a great week with plenty of things to look forward to. It's a shame we had to have all the heavy rain but by the sounds of it there is a lot more to come!

Let's just snuggle under that duvet for a second and catch up on what we got up to last week at Cupcake Towers.

  • I have drunk so much hot chocolate this week it's just insane, I can't get enough of it in this weather. I started Monday with a big mug of Cadburys hot chocolate with marshmallows and it felt good!
  • This week was happy mail week. I received a few cards ready for Tuesday and I'm sure there's more there than previous years which is amazing. I love birthday cards! I also received my craft box which was okay, just not my favourite theme so far. I got a free bottle of miniature baileys in the post too which I'll be handing to my mum because I don't drink.
  • I baked some yummy dark chocolate chip and vanilla cupcakes as well as whipping up a cake for the great bloggers bake off final.
  • There was a surprise package of goodies for the little ones but you'll have to wait for our review to find out more, it's colourful that's all I'm saying!
  • I watched the schools harvest festival which was as usual very good. I was a bit put out that midge wasn't easy to see throughout the performance so there are no photos of her this year but I caught her cousins singing their hearts out so that made up for it a little bit. On Friday I accompanied year 1 and the staff to a local farm. We saw lots vegetables and animals and all had a great time.
  • On Saturday I put on my children's Halloween party for my two and their cousins. We all had a good afternoon with party bags, face paints, Halloween themed party games and lots of food.

What did you get up to?
