Our Week That Was ~ Week 25

I haven't had my phone to hand much this week when out and about so there aren't that many photos this week. I took A on a hot chocolate date before nursery, we also window shopped and checked out the children's mags. It was nice to take my mind off some things at home. On Wednesday I went to a blog event in Bodmin. I was picked up by Stevie (A Cornish Mum) from St. Austell who was lovely and so easy to get along with. At the event we had a talk about Panache, learnt how Mish Lingerie got started, checked out Panache's range of underwear (with a sneak peak at their new autumn/winter range) then we had a yummy lunch (yes! Even I was catered for thank you!) We then had a bra fitting before leaving with our goody bags and gifted underwear. I had a lovely day. I was greeted from the station by the children and Mr B which was very nice.

I met a mum from nursery on Friday, it was our first 'mum date' as I've labelled it! It was so nice, we got on really well, I had baby cuddles and we chatted for over two hours taking us up to school collection time! I enjoyed a lovely hot chocolate and Costa's new egg and sundried tomato wrap was delicious. No photos because I refuse to scare off a new and very much needed friend!! On Saturday I had a lay in and Mr B cooked me sausage & bacon toasties for breakfast *love him!* The children made rice crispie cakes with very little help from me and played together nicely for most of the day.
Next week is Little A's sports day, Midge has some fun activities planned at school but I don't have any plans! I'm starting to look at volunteering opportunities, just need to see what I feel like doing.

How was your week?

Our Week That Was Captured~Week 24

We've now entered the beginning July. There's only 3 weeks left of school, with the children having a lot of fun in the lead up to the end of term. We're on countdown to a holiday in Cambridge which we're able to go on thanks to my parents and I'm starting to plan some fun activities of our own so no one gets bored like last year when we all started fighting!!

I don't normally blog the weekends because well, we don't honestly do very much most of the time. Last weekend was different though, I headed to my Mums for 2 nights alone and Mr B had the children for 2 days which they enjoyed a lot. I got to blog and look through some old things, catch up with my mum and some family came over for lunch. It was just so good to clear my head after a very hard week with my anxiety and feeling very, very low. My parents live by the sea, it's so nice to go back to what I know as I grew up in the countryside only leaving it completely at the age of 21. Anyway, it was nice to get some breathing space and think about 'stuff.'

On Tuesday Mr B was sent home from work poorly. He ended up having the rest of the week off and now as I type this he's much better for it. I wish he could get a job he enjoyed but it's secure and we all know how essential that is. After school my mother in law picked me and the children up for her birthday tea at Table Table. Mr B was in the car sleeping and Midge was at the other end of the table to me so I have no photos of them but I do of Little A, me niece and my delicious pudding!

Wednesday was sports day for midge and it was great fun. There was long jump, track races, a sack race and more which she loved (after moaning about the whole day in the morning!) I met Mr B at the doctors and took A up to nursery, I returned home before repeating the school run later! On Thursday I had Little A's paediatric appointment before he went to nursery which was pretty uneventful, just a catch up and with nothing much to add or ask it was over pretty quick. I got some advice on helping him with his pencil grip and A was happy enough to do the tasks she asked of him so mostly I was a spare part! I still think there might be a little something about A but at his age it's hard to tell and he may be just a normal 4 year old boy!

After dropping A off to nursery on Friday and sending Midge off on her teddy bears picnic at school, Mr B and I headed to lunch and to look around a few charity shops where I found an audio Care Bears set which is really old and so great! We bought new shoes for the children and a family game for £1. Later we got home and had a cereal dinner as it was so hot! Mr B was feeling better so we set up camp downstairs for the night which was actually okay and much more comfy than previous camp outs! On Saturday we went to town to get Midges hair cut. I feel sad her long hair has gone but Midge is happy with it. I on the other hand needed a bit of time to get used to it! Midge and Mr B decided to camp in the garden but Little A and I opted for our beds (A had no choice because they came home late from a BBQ) but i'm not fond of camping outside! We did join them in the morning when it lashed down creating a very fun Sunday morning for us all with my laughter!

Next week Little A has his teddy bears picnic with his new teacher and Midge has lots of fun planned at school, I'm going on my second blogging event (this time invited! Big thanks to Stevie and Mish Online for this!) so I'm super excited about that. Hope you've all had a great week!

What We've Been Up To...

For the last couple of weeks we've had lots of appointments with Little A and a lot of school things going on. There are school plays coming up, more meet the teacher days and more settling in sessions to come- it's all rather exciting (if a little hectic!) Although it's been busy and although Little A has been getting on great, we are having a pushing boundaries phase on top of some self regulating problems at home. Nothing too bad, it's just that it can all get a bit stressful! We have had fun though! Here are some photos of our last couple of weeks!

I've also been carrying on from my #30dayswild and taken many more photos of nature. Here's a few favourites from my week:

I hope you've been all enjoying some sunshine and nature too despite how hectic our lives can be! Next week we meet Little A's reception teachers properly, will enjoy a teddy bears picnic, hopefully go to the local pool again and buy our holiday train tickets!

The Week That Was ~ Week 18

Wow week 18 and already May? I feel we're going at a good pace but still it's scary how the days just zoom by. I really haven't done much this week, or maybe it feels like that because, shock horror, I've had a big fat zero in Costa outings this week! It's more about forming better spending habits than anything else but as I'm trying to be healthier I know that not having Costa with cake two to three times a week is going to help!

I decided on Monday to finish Midges room which, with the help of my mum (after I begged her to come over!) was finished by the end of the day. Midge loves her new room with the stickers and all her belongings now in a safe place or on show. I was really pleased all the hard work paid off!

Healthy breakfasts// New room for Midge// Purple flowers!// Lovely filling dinner// Cornish flag flying on a lovely sunny day

The rest of my week was heavily focused on food because I've been eating healthier I've been cooking decent meals every night. We baked fairy cakes several times this week including some special ones in honour of the new Princess born on Saturday. We watched some live coverage with my mum as we ate dinner and the children really enjoyed it.

The weather took a turn this week, we probably enjoyed three non wet school runs. I had a trip to the library with Little A, he picked out a book on sharks and sat with a friend before choosing a book for his big sister which he actually got spot on. She was over the moon! Other than that I made myself useful with housework, catching up on my pen pal writing and volunteering for trips with the nursery! That should be fun!

Great First Week of Easter Holidays ~ Week 14 ~ AtoZChallenge

Oh we've had a lovely first week of the Easter holidays. We are now on week 2 and I doubt you'll get the same photos as last week! We started Monday by going to Penzance to visit several fellow Mums and their children. We had chips, popcorn, chatted and laughed and more. The children played wonderfully and even had a little egg hunt around the house (which was a converted chapel and stunning may I add!) we all enjoyed our train journey to and from Penzance.

On Tuesday I took the children to town to pick up a parcel and then they tagged along for my nurses appointment at the doctors...fun! They were rewarded by a lunch out in Weatherspoons and daddy arrived after work which was a lovely surprise.
Wednesday was a day of rest for me! We literally did very little a part from movies and playing inside with cars, trains and what not. Okay I observed more than join in but you know...Thursday oh wow I read a whole book in one day, I was so proud of myself! Midge went to my Mums' to stay for two nights. She baked Easter cupcakes and had cat cuddles plus more adventures with my sister who is down at the moment.

Train journey// Playing nicely// Easter egg hunt success// Lunch out// Catching up with Kat and Baby T via skype// Big breakfast// Book I read in one day// Banana cake- yum!

Friday was pamper day! Midge and my sister both got their nails done while my Mum and I went and had back and neck massages (very nice, shame the effects didn't last longer though!) It was very relaxing and a welcome change from home. Midge went back with Mum and I went home to cook a spag Bol which I devoured. Turkey mince is so good for the record.

On Saturday Little A and I just chilled out together waiting for Midge to come home. They played together for ages and I cooked a little while they were both entertained! I watched Friends today and caught up on TV. The weather wasn't great so we didn't get to watch Jay play football, hopefully will this Saturday. Sunday was lovely, you can read about it here. A whole afternoon at my Gran's house with all the family (nearly all, my brother is still up country) it was a great day with adventure and good food.

Our Week That Was ~ Week 13

I'm sitting here enjoying my Sunday with a new television box and two children happily immersed in their own activities. Hubby is also happy sat on the sofa with his Bear Grylls and full stomach from this mornings breakfast cooked by myself. It was rather yummy I must say.

This week it was the last week of school. As usual I wanted to make Monday a good starting point to the week. I dropped Midge off to school and then hopped on a train to Truro with Little A who loved this (go figure!) we saw the the Court House, the Cathedral in the distance then went to have a Costa and play in a toy store. We made it back in time for nursery which was great.

On Tuesday I mooched around town before meeting my Hubby for lunch which we haven't done in ages. I only took a photo of him (complete with growing beard!) then we put technology to one side for a nice meal and chat. We both collected the children and headed home out of the weather. Wednesday I got some chill out time before heading home to clean and tidy. I had a hot chocolate and people watched whilst enjoying my new charity shop book find. It was so funny I was laughing out loud, bit embarrassing!

The children had a non uniform day Thursday so they wore their new shoes that I bought the previous day and were very pleased. I spent some time scrambling about for two donations plus £4 for a trip starting after half term. Anyone else do this? I managed to post off some happy mail today and run some errands. I was on pick up duty because Hubby had to help his sister out so I was getting a good work out!

Friday was a lovely day. I watched both the children do their Easter bonnet parades and they both did me so proud with their cat walks. They looked so sweet. I had a Costa with Mum and Little A (Mums treat- win!) then after nursery I treated my mum to lunch out before meeting Hubby in town to go to school. My niece arrived in the evening which was a surprise for my two. They made lots of mess, did crafts and we camped out in the front room (my back!) Mum came back at 4pm Saturday where we had a nice stew for dinner and waited for my sister to come back from university by train. They spent a couple hours at my house before heading home for the night, it's so good to have her home!

Next week it's Easter and half term so I'm thinking baking, chocolate, Midge heading for sleep overs, take out pizza because Dominoes finally opens near me!! I'm visiting my Gran for Easter Sunday and hoping to see my sister and I should be going out to meet some friends and their children for the day.

Our Week That Was~ Week 12

Last week seems to be a blur already! It was a tiring week more than anything, but a good one. I started it with a morning on Monday staying out with Little A at the library and buying a hot drink and a newspaper. I like starting my Mondays in a more positive way at the moment. On Tuesday after school Little A came down with a bit of a cough, which soon became another bout of croup, two days off school for him!

Yummy Monday stew// Poorly boy// Moment of happiness with bubbles//Crafting

On Wednesday I crafted with Little A and then did some with Midge after she finished school. I got some exciting happy mail this week in the form of a Harry Potter necklace (which I bought purely for the pendant to re use it! I then got my PJ bottoms on Thursday which I opened in Costa with my Little A (who ate both my free from wraps which are not cheap!) Anyway, I love my new PJ bottoms! I dropped A off and saw the schools chicks they've been looking after (they've just hatched very recently!) They were so, so cute. It's caterpillars next which will be great for the children.

Home crafted mug// Deathly Hallows// Nursery chick// Harry Potter PJ bottoms!

As you can see I didn't get up to much, and anything else I got up to I've forgotten! Oh dear...I did have a lovely weekend seeing my Aunt for her birthday. Midge has made a new friend at school so she was out having fun at her friends house when I popped over with A and both my parents. We had a lovely little meal and some cake and ice cream (win!)

Our Week That Was~ Week 11

I spent Monday having a pleasant morning school run where for once no wheels were present! So nice to not hear those scooter wheels dragging on the tarmac on a Monday morning! When we arrived home Little A occupied himself, we had a nice cuddle and I managed to do some crafting. Later I delivered him to nursery where he had a fun day whilst I did housework- boring! I ran out of gas though so had no heating or hot water until Wednesday! We baked lovely chocolate cupcakes in the afternoon after school and both of them decorated the cakes (with plenty of bickering of course..) I finished my letters and crafting when the children went to bed and caught up on good old Four Rooms (anybody else!?)

On Tuesday I was in rather a bit of discomfort with my back and legs so decided to stay out with A until nursery. I used a gift card from a friend to buy us both hot chocolate and we stayed in Costa for an hour. I got to read the paper, A played with my phone and we chatted a little too. We then went to the train station to eat our lunch before going to nursery. We met a lot of friendly people today, which was nice. I went home and got myself a nice hot water bottle, read my happy mail from America and did some blogging.

Wednesday was a day for bill paying, negotiating with council tax and being patient! Before all that though I had breakfast with Little A, not done that before just us two.I later had a lovely date with a friend who had come back from the USA and we got to really catch up. The next time I see her she'll have a new baby which is a lovely thought. I stayed a little after my friend left and then met up with Hubby to collect the children. We had a rather fraught walk home but ended the evening quite nicely (but again a late bedtime for me silly!)

On Thursday we got a parcel from Koalapak to review which we are all really excited about diving into! I had a relaxed afternoon not doing much other than housework and sorting some blogging. Later everyone came home and every single one of the family was in a foul mood! Dinner was quick and so was bedtime! Hubby watched footie on the TV whilst I sloped off to bed to watch TV on my phone. I had a better Friday though, sending off all my gift swap parcels and my new notebook that my friend and I have started. We had a take out dinner (now limiting to once a month, if that, for weight and money purposes) I enjoyed a long walk today and a visit to the library too which is a favourite place of mine I must admit.

On Saturday I visited my Gran who has been home from the hospital nearly a week now and doing well with her new knee. We had a short walk with my Aunt and I cooked up a vegetable stew with gluten free dumplings, very tasty if I may say so! It was a really nice day actually. I have spent Sunday having a nice relaxing day with my family. A big breakfast, a few gifts and homemade items have made me smile.

Next week I have no plans at all. Nothing! How boring! I'll just have to see what happens beyond my day to day goings on. Hope you have a good week all.

Our Week That Was Captured ~ Week 8

Sorry for the lack of blog posts, this week has been half term for the little ones and it's been rather nice in many ways. Nice to spend some time together, great to have longer in bed, great that Hubby had 2 days off and so good to finally chill. If you read here often you'll know most mornings are a struggle ,not just getting ready but getting to and from the school (at least 4 times a day and 6 Monday's!)

This week we had my eldest niece staying with us. She slept over at the weekend and woke early on Monday eager to do stuff. They did a bit of water play before we all went out and I got sucked into spending a small fortune in the pound store on craft supplies! When we came home I placed glue, paints, pom poms and feathers on the kitchen floor so they could get crafty for a bit. Later my niece went to her Nans for another sleep over and Midge went to my Mums for the night! Little A and I read some nice story books before I spent some time with Midge before Grandma came to collect her.

On Tuesday I came out in this horrid cold which totally took me by surprise. I spent all afternoon on the sofa barely doing anything, just waiting for my friend to arrive. It was a rather spontaneous idea but it was lovely to have a hot drink, a natter and to see her daughter again. Midge turned up just as they left which was gutting and so typical! We enjoyed delicious pancakes in the evening with thanks to said friend dropping over a new recipe I've never tried before. I had mine with banana custard, the children just had a small bit of sugar and even pancake-hater Hubby had some chocolate spread on one. Yum!

Cousins crafting// Little A's artwork// Banana and custard pancakes// Some happy mail ready to be posted.

On Wednesday I really did feel bad! I had a proper duvet day and was very grumpy. I had my aunt over in the afternoon and grabbed a much needed hot shower before that. We did some dog training then watched Outnumbered on Netflix before she left. I put myself straight back into the duvet with two hot water bottles and a lot of tissues for my streaming nose! I did little A's cake whilst Jay put him to bed but had no energy to make a real great cake this year. I nearly fainted whilst icing it so had to take a break! I read a little of my book then called it a night. I was joined as usual not longer after I went up by A crawling up my stairs to get into my bed. He was really fussy on this night, why is it when you're at your weakest!?

Thursday my beautiful boy turned four years old (I know!) we had a family breakfast in town, went shopping and spent some time with my nieces and nephews in their new home before having picky tea and cake. We were all a bit under weather sadly and I was really feeling it in the morning. So glad I was able to last until bedtime!

Boy in my bed!// Opening his present with help from Midge, Happy birthday and candle blowing time!// The destroyed before it had chance to be photographed birthday cake!

On Friday Jay had another day off so he had a long weekend. I had a bit of a lay in and we had a mostly lazy day. We decided to cut the children's hair today before they went back. Midges was easy because she's growing it and just needed it trimmed a tiny bit, Little A's needed to be cut properly. With his SPD it's a blog post in itself but let's just say during the second half of having it done he was a total star and I am so proud of him. After hair cuts we went outside where we put paint on some tarpaulin and slid around. This was Jay's idea and so much fun! We got cleaned up and had a picky tea but I started to feel really unwell again shortly after. I put Midge to bed then stayed on my sofa watching live Eastenders and Gogglebox!

On Saturday I had a nice lay in, I read a lot of my Harry Potter book and started writing a letter which I've felt too rough to catch up on all week, I haven't even blogged this week! Jay had a football match but was too far away to watch so the children mostly entertained themselves while I started early spring cleaning. I'm de-cluttering first, the house is messier than when I started! Still a nice day overall with a very late bedtime for me- oh dear!

Cousins posing together// Half trough the hair cut a much needed break was required// More happy mail ready to post// Fridays movie of choice? Good old Harry Potter!

Next week is back to school and I'm not looking forward to it. My Gran is having a knee replacement so I'm hoping to see her at some point, although I do have a phobia of hospitals so we shall see! I know I must really. I have parcels to post, letters to write and hopefully a catch up with a friend who is back from the grand U.S of A! Have a great week.

Our Week That was Captured: Week 5

This week:

I started a brand new book I've waited a while for. It's Confessions of a Mother Inferior by Ericka Waller. It was so good to read and crosses off another book from my 26 Books list! I'm now back to the 4th installment of Harry Potter.

I had lunch out with hubby once this week which was rather nice. We mooched around the shops and I bought lots of bits and bobs from town. I mainly bought clove oil, some nice new hair stuff to give me some volume and Little A a much needed bag! He adores his new digger bag.

I made a last minute rice pudding which is my all time favourite dessert. It cannot beaten if done properly. I was feeling a bit random so chose to eat out of a pink mug of mine instead of a bowl. I think this has more to do with greed than anything else actually!

I had yet another dental visit this week. I was poked and prodded but there's nothing he can see so I went off with a 7 day prescription for an infection which appears to not even exist. I think I'll be starting February with another set of drills for a replacement filling...

Little A has been very difficult these past couple of weeks but one day we went to nursery in the buggy and he asked to get out when we were nearly there. He then swapped places with his robot and pushed him some of the way before it was my turn.

We've had a lazy Saturday because Daddy has been out at football. The kids built tents, mostly argued, were bribed with sweets that were supposed to be posted to someone else...hmm we watched a bit of Harry Potter and had a real junky tea. Before Little A could conk out on the sofa, I got out some craft bits and they both decorated their own t-shirts a friend gave me recently. I actually had a lot fun!

New book// Yummy rice pudding// A and his new bag!// *sigh*// Robot gets a lift// Painting t-shirts!

Next week it's non uniform day, I'm going to be doing some birthday planning for Little A, we have our very first paediatrician appointment which I'm very nervous about and no doubt more dental appointments for myself! I'm determined to get through next week without touching my little savings pot! Wish me luck!

Our Week That Was Captured 19-25 January

Last week was a lot better than the previous week I'm glad to report! On Tuesday It was hubbies turn to endure the dental work so I waited around for him to have it all done before we made it on time for the school pick up. Before I met him at the dentists I had a lovely half hour with my mum in Costa. We had hot chocolate and chatted before she had to leave for work. After the school run we made the decision to treat the kids to a Weatherspoons dinner. They both enjoyed their meals and so did both Jay and I.

On Wednesday I did what ever I could to keep my mind off of the impending dental visit so anxious was I about the whole thing! It went much better than planned but after a few hours I had a lot of pain. Jay had gone to football training so Midge was my little hero and helped me out with bedtime. The pain did fade but I might have an infection which is being looked at this week.
The other days just fall into a blur a part from Saturday which was Jays' birthday. He had a nice football themed cake and I spent the day with the little ones watching films whilst he played football in St. Agnes. The morning was lovely though because we met up with my in laws and all six children got together to have breakfast at Table Table. It was SO good I can't wait to go back again (but I'm starting my new healthy weight watching this week so must be careful!)

Only a short one this week as not much really happened. Still, I've been reading my posts back and it's been so nice to see what we got up to I wish I wrote more last year! Hopefully I'll be on time with my post so I don't forget quite so much!

Our Week That Was: Christmas 2014

Well there's another Christmas done and dusted! I really enjoyed our family Christmas this year and the countdown to it more than I think I have before actually. On the Monday we made homemade lanterns and had a super lazy day. It was just my little ones and me because Jay had to work until 9pm. I do hate Mondays but you can't always sulk can you! We also sat down and wrote our letters to Father Christmas. Midge took great care with her letter, Little A did a nice big scribble having not mastered any writing skills whatsoever just yet, even I had to write a letter to Father Christmas and I've not done that in years! I'm glad I did because it showed Midge how you should write a letter, not just dive in asking for this, that and the other!

Tuesday was what we in the Cupcake House refer to as 'Christmas Eve, Eve.' My Mum came over which the children loved. We did some shopping for food in the morning, just grabbing a few bits then again in the afternoon when Grandma arrived we added the bits we couldn't find locally. All stocked up we went home for a picky tea and then pulled on all our warm clothes for our traditional neighbourhood walk, where we look at all the pretty Christmas lights that our neighbours put up every year. Snowmen that light up, trains in windows, outdoor trees and roofs covered in lights- just amazing!

Homemade lanterns// writing to Father Christmas// Hanging out with a snowman// Lights in a neighbours window

Wednesday was Christmas Eve and it was actually a very calm affair! The previous night I had placed the teddy elves from our small tree underneath our larger tree and sat behind them were 2 gift bags. I love doing Christmas Eve gift bags because the children are occupied whilst I get on with things. They had a craft, some pajamas, a new Christmas DVD, a treat box and an activity book (all from poundland bar the pj's!) I sat with them and made the Christmas trees because Little A found them a little difficult but I really didn't mind. Hubby finished work at 1.00pm and family arrived at 2.00pm, by which time I had laid out a spread on the dinner table, including fondue set with strawberries and marshmallows!

Christmas Day was an unusual one and not the one I expected. The morning was fantastic with all of us opening our stockings in my bedroom followed by the children finding Father Christmas's footprints in our front room (actually from the front door to his mince pies to be exact!) We opened our presents and had a yummy breakfast before different members of the family arrived here and there. My parents and sister arrived which was lovely but as the day went on it wasn't very festive. Dinner was incredibly late and Little A gave me a few anxious hours with his croup, which just came out of no where. We did have a delicious dinner and went to bed very full and exhausted!

We've spent the time since then playing with new toys, dressing up and going nuts on scooters (the little ones) eating a lot of chocolate of the American variety (Hubby) and reading, drinking hot chocolate and catching up with my penpals ready for the New Year (me). Phew, what a week! I hope it was a good one for you too lovely readers. Next week, I'm celebrating New Years with my parents and babies. It'll be odd not being with Hubby...I don't have any other plans because I'll be mentally preparing for those blasted school runs!!

Our Week That Was: Captured 8/12/14

This week has been one of those weeks where pretty much every day I've woken up and wanted to go back to bed within a couple hours...

Monday was a long day. There aren't even any photos from Monday which will give you some idea how rubbish it was! I was just tired all day and we were all on a go slow. Hubby hates having to work all day on a Monday and I hate not seeing him until the evening.

Tuesday was a better day. Before nursery Little A and I made some chocolates from a set my friend bought me a few months ago when I visited her. I loved them but everyone else thought they weren't so nice. Dark chocolate is a required taste! I met hubby at school and we watched Little A's very first Christmas performance. He entered waving and smiling then broke down in tears as the singing started, it was utterly heart breaking sitting there not holding him. Luckily he adores his key worker and by the end they managed to get him on the stage, sat on the edge jiggling the bells to Santa Got Stuck up the Chimney. We ended today with a charity shop trip where I found two Harry Potter books for £1.50. I was very pleased!

Wednesday was a horrid day for me. I spent all day thinking i'd upset someone very dear to me so I really did feel quite sad. I raided my whole advent calender, switched on a Harry Potter film and started my Harry Potter books all over again. Hubby cheered me up and we had a very late night listening to me natter away! A very late text cheered me up and I finally got some sleep knowing all was okay.

Oh my Thursday must have been dull because I really cannot remember what happened at all! I know I was very tired from a rubbish nights sleep with Little A, and I know there was lots of hot chocolate consumed at home. There was also writing of Christmas cards for Little A's school friends. Midge has done hers all by herself this year..*sob*

Friday morning was a late start for Midge at school (I promise there were good reasons!) Little A and I returned home to get something to eat and relax before nursery. I was meeting a friend at 2pm so I visited the library finding a new cookery book I loved but I couldn't take it out because of my fines-whoops! I was really gutted but it's my fault. I popped to Boots for medicine for the children and had a mooch round a charity shop purchasing some cool panda slippers for Midge. I then met with my friend for a very large praline hot chocolate and a natter before joining hubby at the school. We ended the day with a very naughty but nice dinner of hash browns, eggs and vegetable rice.

Saturday was a mix of fun with a spontaneous tuff spot session which the children loved. I filled the spot with flour, walnuts and hoop cereal and they played for ages pretending it was snow with Little A's trains, cars and diggers. Hubby was rather late home but returned with guilt bought cake and marshmallows just for me so he was forgiven quickly, and thanks to the nice weather the children even got on their trampoline for half hour or so. We ended our evening with bedtime stories, the fifth installment of Harry Potter and the above mentioned cake.

Our Week That Was: Captured 1/12/2014

Hello! Another week another week that was with the lovely Hannah. Enjoy!

Monday was probably one of my best days this week and it was so refreshing to enjoy a Monday! Little A and I dropped Midge off at school then watched our usual 9:06 train at the station before heading into town. I decided not to bother with going home and stayed in town with Little A instead. We enjoyed a Costa together, then trotted off to the library before A announced he needed the loo and unfortunately the toilets there were still out of order meaning we had to go to the train station where we ended up staying for half an hour chatting and going through leaflets (nowhere else to go so close to nursery!) We watched the usual 12:02 train come in then went to nursery. I came home to do a few bits and bobs before returning for the afternoon pick up where both children had had a good day. By tea time things were getting their usual hectic so what a wonderful surprise it was to see hubby come through the door! He decided to come home early from work as his shoulder has been giving him grief (he works on factory lines) it was a lovely surprise! We ended the day with some paper chain making which was fun.

On Tuesday we did our usual morning routines, a little more wrapped up than usual because the temperature seemed to have really dropped! Hubby and I picked the children up early from school to head to the dentists- eek! Midge was brilliant as usual and this time her teeth were very good. Little A made us very proud by letting the dentist look at his teeth this time so they both got stickers. Hubby and I were not so lucky! I have a tiny cavity and need a big filing elsewhere as does Hubby- oh dear! New year gifts to us! We rounded the day off with a chip shop tea as a treat. I also got to see my sister before she went back to uni with my parents the next day.

Wednesday wasn't anything special but it was a relaxing day and those are good. Little A and I had a nice walk to nursery in the afternoon, he played about with leaves and we ate chocolate (naughty mum!) on the way home I had a rather rubbish anxiety moment in a store when they wouldn't take my vouchers which wasn't nice but I went home after sorting it out and tried pesto with pasta for the first time ever whilst watching the 2nd Harry Potter.

On Thursday I planned to head to Penzance after the nursery drop off but soon changed my mind when I picked up what I thought was my parcel from the sorting office..it wasn't, it was my husband's new shoes *sigh* I wasn't going to go around with them so went into the local shops instead. I got a call from Hubby asking if I wanted to meet him so we had a lovely lunch in Weatherspoons. It was so, so good and we both left to pick the children up together after having a drink and a chat. On the way home we popped to Tesco for some extra bits and Midge let me take a photo of herself in the Elf face which was rather funny.

Friday I received a prize in the post. It was a fantastic Paddington Bear haul from Love Reading. I was over the moon and so was Little A who opened it with me. Hubby had the day off and he went early to take Midge to school and do the food shopping. He also picked up Little A's carol concert outfit which I can't wait to see him in on Tuesday. On our way to nursery we spotted a very old-fashioned but lovely tractor which Little A had to have a photo taken next to. I also treated my nails to a bit of TLC with a lovely purple colour. Quite wintry I thought!

On Saturday I had a lovely lay in then took the children to town to collect a few bits. We then went on to the church to see a few of their Christmas trees and see what they had to offer in the market. I felt really uncomfortable there and couldn't wait to leave. Little A bought a toy and Midge bought a book before leaving. I liked the fair trade stall and bought two lovely angels that had been made in Bangladesh. After we left, both children wanted to walk around the graveyard and we saw some squirrels which was nice. We headed to Costa for hot chocolates and cake and I had my first ever Turkey wrap. I've not eaten Turkey in over 13 years and it was pretty nice in the wrap but I won't be craving it at Christmas dinner! We looked in some charity stores then headed off to watch hubbies football game (which he won!) Dinner was a lovely pesto pasta salad which I enjoyed very much. Hubby went out for the night so I snuggled down and watched my 3rd Harry Potter film.

Sunday saw us be super lazy and have a yummy roast dinner. We did the usual getting organised for school and watching our 4th Harry Potter! Love it. Next week will see Little A's nursery concert, parents evening, a church craft day and well, goodness knows what else! Have a lovely week!

After spending all weekend with two very tired children who had been coughing all the time, I decided Monday was to be a day off school and nursery. I made it clear it was to be a relaxing day therefore it meant we didn't get up to much other than watching TV, me doing chores and wrapping and posting my swap partners Advent swap gift.

On Tuesday Little A was back to nursery and he had a great day. Midge woke with belly ache (which turned out to not be as bad as she had made out) I had to go to town to do some boring jobs but we found a snowman to hang out with for a little while so obviously I took a photo of that! When we got home I knew hubby was picking up Little A so Midge and I got some food and watched the first Harry Potter film snuggled under our duvets.

On Wednesday I finally had a child free house during the day! I did a huge de-clutter in the house in preparation for Christmas decorations and the big day itself. I have 3 large bags to donate to charity and will need to do some dump runs one day soon! I also created some leafs with Little A before nursery today. If you follow Story of Mum then you'll know that this month has been all about leaving inspirational leaf notes around your local area. I had great fun making mine.

On Thursday I had to be super organised. I tidied the house in preparation for my Dads visit (it was his birthday) I baked a cake and cooked a roast. They arrived before the children went to bed which was nice, then we had an adult dinner before my little sister made a surprise entrance which my parents just loved. She came back from university for a week and I know they were both over the moon with her arrival as was I! We had such a wonderful night.

Friday was rather dismal. I woke feeling unwell and had to drag my backside to the school. Thankfully I perked up for the nursery run but I came home and did nothing all day! So no photos for Friday I'm afraid!

Now Saturday was set to be another boring day. The children bickered a fair bit and I was still down in the dumps (but at least not feeling poorly) we watched Toy Story 2 and I did a nice risotto for tea. When Hubby returned from football I had spontaneously decided to get the decs out so we spent the evening sorting through them. He popped out and bought a new tree which he put up minus the decs and we spent the rest of the night drinking hot chocolate and watching my Desperate Housewives dvds!

A nice big parcel ready to post for Advent// Midge made herself feel better with some Christmas crafting//On Tuesday we found a snowman in town// The family Advent calender I made

A warm cup of hot choclate for the school run and a Midge to push the buggy!// The sun was beautiful in the morning but we could hardly see to walk// The two leafs I made with Little A before nursery and which I left in town//Little A at the train station//Watching 'his' train come in

Dads birthday cake// Some happy mail from America// A rather yummy hot chocolate//A decorationless Christmas tree// My new read for the festive period and a yummy free from muffin!

I hope you all had a wonderful week too! We ended ours with a wonderful family day consisting of going out for breakfast, buying lots of new decorations and doing our tree. This week there is dentist appointments, a school fayre and plenty more planning for the Big Day to look forward to! (And hopefully i'll get to blog this week on time!)
