Sunday Stroll

I know it's two days late but I've come down with a stomach bug and have two bickering children trying their best to ruin this summer holiday! Still, they're starting to get used to each other which is a good thing and all I can do is hope we can get out and about again soon!

Last Sunday we rather spontaneously stepped out the house for some fresh air and a treat for breakfast. We went to Wetherspoons for a large English breakfast before deciding to explore our town a bit. There is a slightly hidden path beside the local park that we'd never bothered with before but hubby thought it would be a nice idea if we took a stroll and find out where we end up.

Well, I'm so glad he suggested it because it was really lovely. I felt like I was going through a bit of the country again with the loose stone path, the over grown bushes and the fresh air.

We ended up in such a pretty little village called Penponds. It really is beautiful, one of those quiet, quaint villages. We found a pink painted house!

We also found a house which looked so pretty and had huge fields attached to it complete with a stable for two horses. This horse was so big and handsome, Midge and Little A were a little taken a back by how big she was!

We walked under Pebponds bridge where shortly after we saw two trains zoom over us. Little A was so excited, every train is Thomas to him you see. We then walked up a little more and came to the villages local church. Such a lovely little church.

We spent a lovely afternoon just the four of us out and about getting some fresh air and discovering new places. I wish I could live in that village! It was a bit rubbish though coming back to my home on the bus station road and right around the corner from town. Ill never be a town kind of girl. Ill always dream of my lovely little house in a quiet and quaint village.

My Mothering Sunday

I had such a lovely day yesterday. It all changed a bit last minute because Husband was called and asked to play football for a rather good team so he said he'd make up the lack of breakfast in bed for a nice dinner!

The children brought me up some toast, a large card and a new pillow while I sat in bed waking up. I had some cuddles before getting up, saying goodbye to Husband and getting ready for the day. We all waited for Grandma to come so we could go over to Great Grandma's house as a surprise for Mother's Day. It was a lovely day and as an extra surprise, my Aunt and Uncle had arrived as well! I haven't seen them since my wedding so it was a lovely little family day.

We had a massive lunch and a choice of 3 desserts (I had a bit of all 3- pig!) but it was so delicious I couldn't help myself! The children found Great Grandma's special room where she meditates which fascinated them. What they really loved about the room though was it is Fleas little room to relax when there are a lot of people around.

Little Man brought his trains with him and  made a point of chatting a load of nonsense, being loud and spending some quality time with his Great Uncle. It was lovely to see. Midge played and spent time looking around at Great Grandmas various treasures. She helped lay the table and was really good about eating her dinner. She was really sad to leave and asked if we were staying the night!

When we arrived home it was really nice to see Husband as I had missed him. He had a good game, had done the washing up and was all set to cook me roast when I had to break it to him I'd already had a massive roast for lunch complete with a large pudding helping! He was fine with it and put on some tea for him and some hash browns with peas for me- that was about all I could manage!

I had a lovely Mothers Day so thank-you Little Man and Midge!

Day 6/31 Your 5 Senses Right Now

See- I can see some absolute rubbish on my television curtsy of Little Miss. I can also see my half eaten chocolate bar and various toys scattered across the living room floor- even though none are being played with. There also appears to be a giant Peppa Pig balloon floating about, I have no idea why...

Smell- I can smell my perfume, Lacoste Pink which is my favourite I only wear it when I really fancy it so it lasts me to each Christmas when I get a it again from Other Half. I never get bored of the smell!

Hear- Bar this awful kids programme I can hear Little Miss playing Angry Birds on my phone (not sure which one is irritating me more to be honest!) I've been really anxious these last few weeks and as weird as it sounds I can always hear the thudding of my heart, I hate it.

Taste- My orange flavour chocolate. Surprising lush chocolate considering it's dairy free. Morrisons wins again in the Free From front!

Touch- I'm snuggled in my duvet which is incredibly soft, great for a perfect lazy Sunday before I start on the roast dinner. My keyboard feels a bit sticky as Little Man helped himself to my cornflakes this morning before proceeding to then touch anything within reach. I thought I cleaned it but obviously not well enough! Ew.

Happy Easter

It's not just about chocolate today it's about family. I'm having a lovely time today at my sister in laws. There are 10 of us altogether. Making up that 10 are 5 highly excited/already tired toddlers and one sleepy baby who occasionally wakes to flash a smile then grizzle until she's fed or cuddled. No complaints from me that's all I'll say!

I accidentally bought a 2kg pork shoulder with my online Asda shop (I was only meant to buy a 1kg joint and in fairness I know I typed in 1!) But hey, as we changed our plans and decided to spend Easter over at 'the big house' turns out 2kg of pork wasn't such an epic fail as first thought!
The roast is already cooking in the oven and has been since this morning. It smells delicious and I cannot wait to bite into it!

All the children are spacing out their eggs and various other chocolaty pieces so as not to ruin their dinner. I'm still eating my body weight in chocolate cornflake cakes which are pretty darn good if I may say so myself and don't worry- there is always room for roast!
