No MumenTum..

It has been an awful week for me. Every time I've gone to do something I have been pulled in another direction by someone (namely toddler or baby related of course) which is extremely annoying.
I can't (and won't) blame it all on my little darlings though. My motivation has gone out of the window and I'm not sure when it's gonna bring its sorry ass home to be quite honest!

The past couple of days both Other Half and me have been totally run down with this horrid cold, earache and with Little Miss deciding to play silly buggers at 4 o'clock in the morning and Little Man teething I can honestly and freely admit to being darn right lazy with everything.

I am not myself at all and it is very depressing. I totally get how I am focusing way too much on the fact that I've had a bad week and not enough on making this week count but that just makes it worse in some silly way. Like I've made such a balls up this week that there is even more pressure to be 'good' this week.

I'm really struggling with my diet. I have a restricted diet (I don't eat meat, i can't eat wheat, gluten or dairy) so my meals bore me to death. I have books, I have looked online but the treats and puddings are proving more common and more fun to make! Not that I've made much of anything! I appear to be living off soya mince! Shepard's pie, spag bol...as I said last week I freeze this so I can have a good lunch or a dinner if I'm feeling lazy.

I haven't had take out this week which is one thing to be happy about. And I haven't stuffed my face on sweets or chocolate either. And I'm not sad about that. I do feel though that I have a million and one things to do (or rather I want to do) but am reluctant to prioritise them. Lets face it, yes i would rather blog and read a book, watch Eastenders, e-mail than pull out my exercise DVD...But then if I carry on I will be an overweight miserable sod who hates herself blogging, reading and watching Eastenders.....Ohh I think I've just found my motivation!

I'm linking up (bravely this week) with New Mum Online and the fabulous bloggers who are also on the journey of getting their tums back...I WILL get it back!!

A Mixed Bag

It's been one of those days today. I got up (minus Other Half) which is fine, only Little Man was awake with Little Miss turning up 20 minutes later to play with her new farm toys quietly. I got to catch up on a bit of Masterchef which I love but am still 1 episode behind and I haven't even started the new series yet.

Other Half was heckled (by me then by the kids) and I was told about his trapped wind situation followed by (no, no farting don't worry people) 'you can have a lay in tomorrow Hun i'm sorry it's only fair' aww back in the good books and he knows it!

My aunt was supposed to be arriving at half past 10, not one to induce total shock and actually keep to a time proposed she turned up not 10 minutes late, or half an hour late but ONE HOUR and 10 minutes late! That's just plain 'oh my goodness' stuff for me. My Mum can be like that and it really annoys me! Time keeping is an essential skill...And she's a midwife!! We had a nice morning anyway no matter how rushed it ended up. I taught her how to send attachments via e-mail, she ate all my chocolate covered raisins (with my consent) then left after my Mum arrived early (inducing shock) who had come to take over baby duty while me and the Other Half plodded off to catch our bus to the hospital.

And that's where it went into rather a 'mixed bag' kinda day for me. I saw my doctor and after faffing about with trouser legs and concentrating on not pulling down the curtains I sat to await the news that I thought was oh so simple. Except it wasn't all that simple. In fact a little more complex.
I spent the bus journey in a bit of a misery if i'm honest.
My doctor had discussed with me the legacy our children leave behind them...I couldn't help but think, as nice as he was (yes HE) that really wasn't helping. Don't you get annoyed when people tell you that 'nothing will ever be the same down there again' Nah no shit...

Anyway I was handed my choices and I've gone with: Do a little experiment for 3 or so months as discussed with said doctor, see my GP to have a little chat about this that and the other and could I have that operation that Doctor mentioned?
Well yes I could but it would be ideal to not have anymore children and as it is i'm not sure it would really go in your favour...I'm 22 and i'm pretty sure that maybe, just maybe i am not done yet. No matter how much I hate being pregnant with all the crap that comes with it I'm sure there's number 3 in my future. Call me greedy if you like I just know. More to the point if surgery isn't going to go in my favour i'm not sure I want to put my lady garden through that!

I do feel a little brighter this evening though. Even better now that I have got it all out. Not the usual thing to blog about I know but hey, i think I've handled it well!
The only other downside today is I did give in to some comfort eating by having a bag of chips for my dinner *sighs* and I haven't exercised in 3 days *sighs massively* I don't think many people would exercise though with their Other Half and brother playing Call Of Duty in their front room no?

I Must, I Must, I must improve my Bust!:Reinventing myself

Not just myself, but my life, my relationship and how I do and go about things. I've noticed a real 'stuck in a rut' feeling these last few weeks and finally it's gotten to the point where I'm almost banging my head on the brick walls of my house. I get so sick and tired of these repeated moods but I know I'm not alone, especially in these times.
It's also some what genetic and in the past week I've 'spoken' (facebooked) several members of my family who have been very nice and understanding.
Anyway, on to the 'reinvention of me' malarkey. I've been thinking, if I start this in the New Year then it's bound to become the usual New Years resolution, you know the one you make with all good intentions which gets broken within a week (if you're lucky) and makes you simply shrug your shoulders, possibly feel a bit gutted for a few minutes then move on with your life in the same pattern you wanted to change.
I want to loose a bit of weight, well more inches I think and then hopefully my size 12's will be more comfortable. It's such a bugger being different sizes in different stores. I could fit perfectly well in a 12 in one place and struggle to breath in another! Honestly I don't know!
I want to make more of an effort with myself. I need to be kinder to myself and I think a once weekly pamper week would be lovely. I don't mean abandoning Other Half with the children for hours on end, just perhaps a day where I spend half an hour to an hour starting to feel remotely woman again..? You know, tweeze the eyebrows, shave the legs, moisturise, and look after myself.
Then there's my diet...Oh dear. The amount of take outs I ate last week was pretty abysmal. I just have not been arsed to eat properly. I hate cooking and sometimes after I've done the kids tea I'd much rather sit there on the sofa and not bother having dinner. Most of the time I'll eat the same dinner 3 or 4 days in a row because I become some what obsessed with it. Having a rather restricted diet contributes to my new hate as I can't make anything as yummy and delicious as I once could add to that the extortionate price of Free From food and life is pretty boring food wise!
I don't think it's that I eat a tonne of junk, after all I can't afford it. What I do is get unimaginative with my food, get bored of the routine and prefer to put my children first. Although it's also very difficult to cook for a toddler who won't eat anything but pasta, fish fingers and a few vegetables not to mention the fruit and veg hating carnivore that is the Other Half.
Then there's exercise. I recently found myself a handy little gadget much like a rowing machine I suppose you'd say just very, very not like a rowing machine but a pink elastic thing which will help to tighten those old ab muscles! As for the rest, a tin of beans or a coke bottle (or the baby) throw in 'the plank' with a the nursery run and I should be alright! Other Half made me do 70 sit ups the other day, 2 days later I'm still hurting!
The life and relationship aspect requires a bit more thinking. Things are going well but the need to focus on us is something that is forever going to need to come back to and I think it's something many would agree with.

So off I go to fight my chip shop craving..This sucks already haha!
