Five Things to be Reincarnated As:

Photobucket

This week Kate has got us thinking really hard about who or what we'd like to come back as when our time is done. Interesting... Here are my top 5 things to be reincarnated as:

1) A cat. I've seen this listed a lot actually and it's really not surprising. I would say a cat is my favourite animal. Hopefully I'd be in a really nice home where i could sleep and eat and come and go as I please. What. A. Life.

2) A star. I sort believe we already become stars when we pass away. I sort of hope this is true I mean, what a view! It would also be very sweet to be pointed at like we do with Midge and say 'Super Nanny is a star in the sky,' It would be quite nice I think.

3) A very much loved teddy bear. I would travel everywhere with my little companion and get to sleep in utter comfort knowing how loved I am. When my companion grows up maybe I'd still be kept on a shelf or something or maybe passed on to be loved again? It's a nice idea!

4) A camera. A very nice posh camera. Imagine the things I'd see? I'm thinking of beautiful scenery, happy families, little babies, wonderful photoshoots of baby showers and weddings..Hopefully nothing 'homemade'.....

5) A Penguin. I know I hate the cold but if I was a penguin I really wouldn't care. Or maybe I could be one in a park, after all, the penguins at Paradise Park seem to be happy enough..they get fed fish, dip in and out of the pool as they like and people love them. Who doesn't want to be loved?

There I've done it. I wonder if any of this happens? I bet I come back as a lemon or something *sulks*

Listography: Top 5 Albums

This week Kate has got us listing out top 5 male soloist albums. Mine are not going to be very old, although had this been 'bands' I could of surprised a few! Male artists often relax me and I love their albums for chilling out whereas female solo artists such as Adele would provoke an emotion of some kind.

So here are my Top 5 Albums by male solo artists! (In no particular order)

1) Will Young
I love this album and know almost every song on it. Will Young is one of my Mum's favourite solo artists and he's bloody good one! His voice is amazing and i can totally relax to most of his songs (or have a little boogy!)

2) James Blunt
I love James Blunt- all his albums but this is my favourite one. Although a lot of the songs are pretty low key and have a rather deep meaning, I find there is nothing better than laying on my bed and chilling out to a bit of James Blunt.

3) James Morrison
What's not to love about this great musician?

4) Jack Johnson
The most relaxing, chilled out album ever. I go into a total 'peace only' zone when I play anything by Jack and if you ever have a tough day I recommend him!

5) Newton Faulkner
Brilliant guitarist, lovely voice and just perfect lyrics. My partner and played this album so much we ruined it and now need to replace it! 'Dream Catch Me' has to be an all time favourite. The fact he loves Cornwall is just a bonus!

Top 5 Beauty Products!

This weeks Listography is to list our top 5 beauty products. Mine is nothing like the other blog posts I've seen this week and that's because I don't really wear make up! Anything looks orange on me so I live with those pesky eye bags (that don't really get hidden in my opinion anyway!).

1) Vaseline

I love this stuff it's great for many things. Okay so it's not great stuff (check they ingredients) but hey, my lips always feel great, it doesn't cost me an arm and a leg and a bit on the eyelids also makes them look pretty!

2) Lacoste Hand Cream

I love Lacoste products they smell so, so nice. In 2010 Other Half got me the perfume and I fell in love with it. For Christmas 2011 I got the whole set and I love the handcream. A little goes a long way and my hands smell divine.

3) Stargazer Pink Nail Polish

Yes it has to be pink! I love having pink toes and sometimes i'll paint my finger nails the same colour which is awfuly pretty. Superdrug sells this cheap nail polish but even though it's cheap it isn't total crap. Does it last as long as more pricey brands? Okay no but I still like it!

4) Eye lash curlers

Not essentially a beauty product in terms of something I can cover myself or make myself feel lovely with but I have really long eye lashes so eye curlers are the number one for me when I feel like feeling a bit better about myself and brightening my eyes up. It surprises me how big my eyes can look...I have a Cosmopolitan eyelash curler but I'm open to recommendations please!

 5) Nivea body cream

I have a tiny little tub I use on my face when it feels dry. Wonderful stuff!

Check out Kate Takes 5 for more beauty products!

5 Reasons I know i'm a...

For this weeks Listography Kate has left it sort of open for us. The title is 'The 5 Reasons I Know I'm a...' I was going to do this the other night but I was feeling a bit miserable so all I could think of was silly, negative things so I put it down to come back to later.

So here is later and here is my 5 reasons I know I'm a slightly....Obsessive Compulsive...

1. I have my food cupboard 'just so'. Labels face forward and even Other Half is scared to go in there!

2. I place items in my bathroom in height order

3. I really, really like to cross the crossing before the green man disappears and the sound stops. If it doesn't happen that's okay, but I feel some what successful if I can do this!

4. The kitchen should be the cleanest place in my home. I am a big kitchen wiper..Always wiping those tops me!

5. Finally, at night when I read to my Little Miss sometimes I'm so tired I want to skip a page or two but I simply cannot do it, it feels very wrong and almost 'naughty!!'

Alright so I'm a little obsessive compulsive (or a bit weird) but I'm quite happy! Have a look at Kate Takes 5 to see everyone else's contribution to this weeks Listography.

5 Things that make me Happy

I'm joining in late this week with Kate's Listography because I've had a rubbish week so far and I'm not holding my breath for the rest of it. As you can see I have been very quiet on the blogging front lately, I work on the wise words 'If you have nothing nice (or positive) to say then don't say anything at all' I like to think I take this approach in real life so I shall extend it to virtual life as well!

Anyway here are the Top 5 things that make me happy.

1) My family. My 2 babies who drive me mad sometimes, make me cry occasionally but make laugh pretty much all the time are my precious little beans. My Other Half is an amazing Dad and a lovely man to have. I am very blessed I must admit.

2) Thrifty finds. Who doesn't love a bargain or a wonderful find in a charity store/boot sale? I love bragging about my finds a little bit too.

3) Internet. Blogging can make me happy but what makes me happier is seeing my follower totals going up. I am grateful for every new reader I get and that makes me happy. I also love mailing my friends who live too far away to see, playing a bit of Angry Birds on the laptop and of course a bit of Amazon shopping!

4) Getting Away. I like a little hotel break. We go onto Late Rooms and now and then (rarely now) we go off for one night for a cheap stay in a usually more expensive hotel. We do a spot of shopping (charity shops) and exploring towns we never get to explore. I like to have this time with other Half but having the children with me doesn't spoil things at all.

5) Doing something nice. I like being happy for other people. I like making things for other people. I love giving gifts, cards thinking of ways to make life easier for others. Nothing makes me happier than doing a good deed.

You Mug! -Listography

Yup you heard it right, this weeks Listography has been dedicated to mugs thanks to the wonderful (maybe slightly odd) Kate at Kate Takes 5. Anyway, who am I to judge a great, out of the ordinary idea? I rather like it and we all have mugs we love. I dare you to tell me you do not have a favourite one? The one that NO ONE must drink out of..? The one that if it broke you would, without a doubt have to hide ACTUAL tears so no one could see how sad you really are? You're nodding aren't you?

I'm actually even weirder because I don't drink tea or coffee or any other beverage that requires a mug. I may have some juice in one but i think i prefer my juice in a glass. I do drink hot chocolate from a specific mug i now love (and would cry over). I just like mugs. I don't own many because I don't have the room.

1) The hot chocolate mug. This mug was bought for me by one of my sister in laws and I love it. I've only recently got back into drinking hot chocolate and this is now my mug specifically for this purpose. Nothing beats it because it is so big. (And has cupcakes on)

2) The patriotic mug. I bought this mug around the time Prince William and Princess Kate got married. It was such a lovely time but I couldn't get hold of one of the real deals. Still, I felt having a mug of something to drink with our flag on was good enough.

3) The comical mug. Yes, I think cartoon farm animals are funny. Simple minds and all that. This was another mug bought for me. I tend to let Little Miss have this one most often because it's just the right size.

4.) The cool mug. I think it's cool. My Auntie bought it for Other Half as he is an avid camper van fan.

5) Lastly we have the mug that I only use (and I am serious when i say this) once a year. It's the Christmas mug. No one should use this mug unless it is Christmas. Got it?

So, there are my 5 favourite mugs. I'm looking forward to another Listography with a bit of a random twist! Please link up and/or read by pressing that magical button below.

Listography !

This weeks Listography is your Top 5 Most visited Internet sites. Mine are not too varied but they are all different! Here are my top 5 then! Don't forget to link up with you top 5 over at Kate Takes 5

1. Blogger.com obviously! I visit Cupcake Mumma everyday to read all my favourite blogger goings on, check for comments and write up any memes and anything else I may feel like writing about!

2. Yahoo. Not the actual site to be honest but this is my mail account which is checked more than twice a day. There's always something in my inbox which is always nice. And no it isn't junk, I have a whole different e-mail account I use for when I fancy signing up to things and bagging some online freebies!

3. Facebook/Twitter. I only have a personal account on Facebook and that's enough for me thanks! I do like Facebook for being in the know (such a shame being in the know is all done online instead of an actual conversation or letter these days but hey!) I have only just got Twitter, I know it's a bit against the old rules but it's simply i click on FB click off, click on Twitter!

4. Amazon. I love Amazon as it's so cheap. I get craft stuff mostly now and it's really good for Christmas presents too. I loved them even more when I discovered through my sister in law that they sold 'Fluff' Yum!

5. Finally we have Pinterest. Since I requested an invite I have barely been off it and now, if you look to the right of my blog I have even joined a challenge called #Pinaddicts. How cool is that! I could spend forever on this site..I love it!

Not a bad list in my opinion! I think it's time to shut down all these sites now though and put the Little Miss to bed! X

Listography- Top 5 biscuits

Right this week we have been asked by they lovely Kate at Kate Takes 5 to list our top 5 all time favourite biscuits. This is rather painful for me as I have been both dairy and wheat/gluten free since I was roughly 14 but I shall draw from my fond memories of the biscuit gorging days and then maybe make the alternitive in my kitchen!

 1. Homemade. I don't care what anyone says I am going to say I love my own biscuits! They're vanilla flavoured, I can make them any shape i feel like, they come with icing in my favourite colour (pink) and are just plain yum!

2.  Way back when, I used to love sitting down with a good old chocolate digestive dipped in tea. You let the biscuit get to the point where it's about to break off to eat it and just swim in the delicious taste of melting chocolate mmmmm

3. HobNobs. I used to eat these oaty bad boys all the time. I think i nearly cried when I couldn't stomach oats anymore! And orginial Hobnobs all the way thank-you very much!

4. Jammy Dogers. The biscuits that made a birthday party. My daughter doesn't like them..I should disown her really...

5. Choclate Bourborns. Mmm I remember them fondly. Yummy chocolate..Yummy. Just yummy...mmmmm

Now grab a cuppa, pity me for a few seconds, then admire how I can move on in my life through the tragedy that is not being able to eat the above and yet some how manage to be a happy soul...Oh yes, and link up now by clicking the badge below!

Listography My 5 Best Things

Free range on Listogprahy this week (okay last week I'm late) I'm not sure what my 'bests' will be but i'll just type and see what happens!

1) Best Meal- Now this has to be a roast dinner. I don't eat meat so a lovely bit of salmon, gluten free yorkshire pudding, all the veg and some stuffing mix to add a bit of a taste to my salmon. Don't forget the roast potatoes lathered in oil otherwise I shall not be eating it!
2) Best Achiement- Most definetly having my children, particulay my first, Little Miss when I was only 18 and incredibly niave, not informed in the slightest and scared crapless about the journey ahead.

3) Best film to watch- My all time favourite film has to be The Breakfast Club. I have watched it countless times and it always manages to cheer me up if a little on the low side. I love all the music they have teamed with the film and find myself getting up to have a little old boogy (as long as no one's about you understand)
4) Best website- Right now it's probably Pinterest where I could spend a considerable amount of time wasting my life over all the wonderfuil photos and ideas that are constanty being updated to the homepage. I'm so glad I got an invite promtply...All this time I missed out!

5) Best Day- Tuesday. This is purly based on TV watching. There is usually a good documentary on chanel 4 on Tuesdays, I get to have Eastenders and Holby City one after the other and can generally relax all night long (as long as the children stay asleep that is)

Listography ~ Top 5 Photos from 2011

Once again joining in with Kate at Kate Takes 5 for her Listography link. This week we have been asked to list our Top 5 Photos from 2011. A lot of people have struggled with this one but I think I know exactly which ones I would like to choose...Here are my top 5:
My Little Alfie was born in February 2011 so obviously goes to the top of the list of my best moments in 2011 (If not ever of course)

One of the best photos I took in 2011. I love swans and this reminds me of my previous home near peace and quiet, not so common in the hustle and bustle of the town..

My two cherubs bonding. It's what they do best! I just love this photo!

Little Miss started to learn about writing at home with Mummy in 2011 and it was such a proud moment for me and Other Half

Me and my Little Man in the early, early days. He's a Mummy's boy through and through!!

Head on over to Kate's blog (click above) and mooch about, join in if you fancy and have fun looking back.

Listography:What Makes Christmas, Christmas?

Ah I think I needed this to make me more 'in the mood' for this Christmas (which is actually dragging its arse through December may I add). So here is my top 5 of what makes Christmas Christmas to me.

1) The tree.
Pulling it out of the attic along with all the other decorations is a feeling that I really love. It's exciting because it means the children, okay Little Miss, has the biggest smile on her face and loves decorating her own little pink tree which is in the bedroom she shares with Little Man.
2) Stockings
I love stockings and as you can see we ALL have one. In this house it's Father Christmas who comes down the chimney and places gifts in our stockings, nothing extravagant but still lovely little gifts. He then places them at the foot of our beds for us to open on Christmas morning. Then we have gifts under our tree from friends and family. I don't like the idea that all those wonderful gifts are brought by Father Christmas when they have been bought my Mummy and Daddy who have thought long and hard about what to get and saved hard to get it!

 3) Roast Dinner
I love a roast dinner anyway but on Christmas I like to make even more of an effort. The meat eaters chose whatever they would like and I do my best to cook it perfectly. I prepare everything early and make sure the potatoes are crispy and oily. Yum yum!I have fresh salmon and a delicious gluten free stuffing mix with my Christmas dinner and it really is one of my favourite things about Christmas.

mmmm parsnips and tatties!
4) Christmas Cards
I love getting Christmas cards in the post it makes me feel like people have thought of you. It's lovely now that I live on my own that I get cards addressed to just me and my family, I like that finally I am a separate family unit I really do. I'm not so good at sending the cards however. I do send them, just slowly!

5) Family.
This year I have my side of the family over for Christmas Eve. I'll put on a little spread and everyone will contribute something to the table. On Christmas morning Other Half's mum is picking us up and we'll go over to see his sisters and enjoy some gift giving and seeing her 3 adorable little monkeys. After that we are going to the Mother In Laws house for a Christmas breakfast before heading home to enjoy some time together, the first time the 4 of us. The first decent, really decent Christmas in a very long time.
