My Mothers Day Wishlist!

In this house we love spoiling each other throughout the year. The only day we don't celebrate in some way really is Valentine's Day. I like it but Mr B isn't a fan so we meet each other half way! What we do celebrate is Mothers and Father's Day.

My children always make something lovingly at school which I adore and I always get 2 lovely cards and a gift from each of them which makes me feel very special. They love giving gifts so below I've written some of the items I'd love to open on Mother's Day (that's 26th March guys!)

• A small packet of Booja Booja chocolates. Expensive but delicious, I'd go for the Hazelnut Crunch flavour please! If not for Mothers Day then keep them on the list for Easter!

• A new pair of jeggings. Mine cost less than a tenner and I am in need of some! Only one store in my town sells the comfiest jeggings and I fit a 14 in their store (every other store makes me feel like an elephant!)

• I could happily settle for a new book please. I love to read Philippa Gregory and there is plenty of room on my bookshelf for more of her work!

• I'd love another superdry hoody. I know that's pricey but you can get a bargain online and I'd love another one, I wear my blue one loads so it would be good to change around!

• Bright flowers! I love flowers but rarely buy them for myself, so a lovely bunch of flowers would do nicely.

If I'm lucky I may well get something off of my little wishlist but of course, waking up in the morning having breakfast with my 2 precious little ones and seeing what they made me at school is really all I need...So Mr B can spoil me instead haha!!

Dear March.....#A-ZChallenge

Dear March,

I usually title these posts something like '10 Things I loved in...' but as it's the a-z challenge I thought I'd write a thank you for all the things we got up to during the lovely month that was March 2015. We welcomed spring with some lovely walks, seeing the beginning of beautiful flowers in the nearby neighbourhood green...

I had some wonderful hot chocolate dates with my Little Man before nursery. I consumed a lot of medium sized caramel hot chocolates in March and Little A had a number of baby hot chocolates himself. Sometimes we went wild and added cherry bakewells into the mix...

At the end of the month we had the Easter bonnet parade where both my children made me feel incredibly proud. Midge was walking with her friend even giving her a high five at the end of the cat walk whilst Little A, who only last Christmas was a crying wreck during a Christmas choir of sorts with the rest of his nursery buddies, strutted down the cat walk, hand in hand with another little girl, waving a grinning from ear to ear. I may have cried...

March brought me lots of little things like an opportunity to squirrel away a few pounds for Christmas, lots of happy mail from my pen pals and swap partners and the introduction of Sky TV which means I can watch Friends until I'm sick of it. Thanks March...okay, and everyone else involved.

We enjoyed several lovely walks and I helped Little A climb some trees for the first time...

I also had a wonderful Mothering Sunday...

 I had such a lovely day yesterday. It all changed a bit last minute because Husband was called and asked to play football for a rather good team so he said he'd make up the lack of breakfast in bed for a nice dinner!

The children brought me up some toast, a large card and a new pillow while I sat in bed waking up. I had some cuddles before getting up, saying goodbye to Husband and getting ready for the day. We all waited for Grandma to come so we could go over to Great Grandma's house as a surprise for Mother's Day. It was a lovely day and as an extra surprise, my Aunt and Uncle had arrived as well! I haven't seen them since my wedding so it was a lovely little family day.

We had a massive lunch and a choice of 3 desserts (I had a bit of all 3- pig!) but it was so delicious I couldn't help myself! The children found Great Grandma's special room where she meditates which fascinated them. What they really loved about the room though was it is Fleas little room to relax when there are a lot of people around.

Little Man brought his trains with him and  made a point of chatting a load of nonsense, being loud and spending some quality time with his Great Uncle. It was lovely to see. Midge played and spent time looking around at Great Grandmas various treasures. She helped lay the table and was really good about eating her dinner. She was really sad to leave and asked if we were staying the night!

When we arrived home it was really nice to see Husband as I had missed him. He had a good game, had done the washing up and was all set to cook me roast when I had to break it to him I'd already had a massive roast for lunch complete with a large pudding helping! He was fine with it and put on some tea for him and some hash browns with peas for me- that was about all I could manage!

I had a lovely Mothers Day so thank-you Little Man and Midge!

My Mum.

Has been married to my lovely Dad for 20 years. She's Mum to myself, my younger brother and younger sister. She's in her fifties but I don't think she looks it! She's funny, she's kind, she's always there. Like a Mother should be.

When I told my Mum I was pregnant I was 17. I don't think any mum wants to hear their daughter say the words 'I'm pregnant' when they haven't even finished college yet! Mum took it in her usual stride. She confided in me much later that she felt she had failed some how in parenting me when I ended up taking this path. I told her not to be so silly and that was it. No more was said and now I don't think she'd even remember that conversation.

Mum has always been there. Driving like a formula 1 racer when I was in labour with Little Man, sat by the sides of the birthing pool and prising her hand from my tight grip when I was having her Grand Daughter. She's always the first person I ask when I have a problem, when I'm not sure about something. We've always had this amazingly open relationship where we could talk about anything.
My Mum, like so many mums out there, really doesn't know how special she is. Life just wouldn't be right with without you Mum. I love you.

Mothers Day

Other Half isn't here today as he's taking his bike test. This will be great as he'll be home earlier from work and we'll get to have a family dinner round the table before he leaves like we used to. He'll be home at 4pm so it isn't too bad. Besides, it's Mothers Day and I am here with my 2 babies whom I adore. I got a giant card this morning in bed, a cute keyring, a retro tea towel (I asked for it!) and a nice little wall hanging, i just need to find a place for it now which shouldn't be too hard.

There's just one thing. I miss my Mum. This is the first time in my life I have not been with my Mum on Mothers Day. I always loved making gifts when I was younger and creating cards at school, hiding them rather pathetically and then surprising her on Sunday morning with a breakfast in bed. As I grew up the breakfasts got bigger and better, my card making got a little more better and I was able to buy her some beautiful gifts.

This time I have bought her a lovely gift which I know she will absolutely love. I don't make cards anymore but I still write a soppy something on the blank side which almost makes her cry if not blub a bit on my shoulder! I couldn't see her today because she is working, no ones fault at all but I feel like it's not right. I'll get to see her tomorrow and give her my carefully thought up gift from all of us. I know she'll love it.

My Mum used to think she was not a good Mum because she had a daughter that got pregnant at 17. Well, that wasn't her fault. My Mum has been there so much for me and my siblings, just like a Mother should. I can't wait to see her tomorrow and tell her how much I love her and how much more time we need to spend together. I want memories to treasure. So many more memories.

Have a Wonderful Mothers Day with Albelli

Look what came through the post for me this evening (yes this evening!) a nice big package- how exciting! Although I knew this parcel was coming I was still eagerly awaiting its arrival.

I spent a little while going through Albelli's site thinking which gift would be the best gift for Mothers Day. Of course this wasn't too hard when I thought 'what would I really like'? A canvas photo of my children of course!

I have a canvas photo of my Little Miss and to say I was disappointed with it would be an understatement so you can imagine how tense I was when opening this package! I shouldn't have worried though and here's why:

I mean how beautiful is that? My photo has been placed onto canvas and it doesn't look stretched or grainy at all, not like my other one (from a different company). I loved it so much that the placement of my new piece of art was a no-brainer. I have placed it in my lounge on my once bear wall where it looks lovely.

I would highly recommend Albelli for their photo service but also for their customer service too. My order came within 7 days as specified, I could track my order, had regular updates and my canvas itself was well protected from the risk of damage during handling.
