Reasons to be Cheerful: Goodbyes and Quality Time

I'm going to start with something that probably doesn't sound particularly cheerful. I went with my Aunt and Mum to say goodbye to her little Jack Russel Terrior Poppy. She's been with us all for 18 years and I have some wonderful memories of her as do a lot of our family. The reason im including it this week is because saying goodbye to her was a lovely day. Despite the rain we took the dogs to the Woodland where both people and animals are buried, words were said and we all had a toast in her honor. My Aunt never had children; she has felt content with so many nieces (and a few nephews!) but her dogs have always been a huge part of her life, so much so I call them her 'fur babies.' We said goodbye to one of her little fur babies in a wonderful way.

Mr B has had his supervision week at work and has settled in really well. He's now meds trained, unsupervised and fitting in well. Another bonus is he's happier and was even more so on when his redundancy came through!

I've had some quality time with both my Little Ones recently. Midge had a day off a week ago because of her ear infection so we had cake in a cafe together and a hot drink then a few days later A had his hearing test, so before we went to the hospital we had the same treat and it was lovely for me to get that time with my little ones on separate occasions. I've also had a breakfast out with Mr B on his day off before collecting A for his dental trip.

I think we would agree it's been a pretty tough couple of weeks news wise. The weather has been miserable (although nice today at last!) and I have been missing Mr B as I adjust to his longer hours and random nights he stays over night at his sisters which is easier for work on a Sunday. It just shows that even in the hard times, in the dark times, we can find happiness if we look hard enough.

What have you been cheerful about this week?

Reasons to be Cheerful ~ Lingerie & Hot Chocolate!

I've had a pretty good week this week! I've had some lovely hot chocolate dates this week the first at home with well, myself actually! Hot chocolate, Little A playing nicely it was a perfect moment. I took A for a date on Tuesday with his new hair do which I love. He gets so hot with his thick locks (even though his hair is gorgeous!)

I had a costa date with a new mum friend on Friday! It's taken us weeks and weeks of just casual hellos and quick chats, then longer chats when we realised we walked the same way. One day two weeks ago I handed my number over, she actually text me unlike several other mums last year and finally we had lunch and a hot chocolate. I had a genuine 'I'm so friggin happy moment' talking, getting along really well, having baby cuddles. It was a lovely couple hours before the school pick up.

Lastly, I attended a blogging event in Bodmin last Wednesday. I went with stevie from A Cornish Mum and met several other bloggers, 3 lovely volunteer customers who were posing in the underwear and swimwear ranges and a couple of ladies from the local WI as well as Mish herself, her lovely staff and forgive me I cannot remember your name but lady from Panache who also fitted me you were lovely!

We had a yummy lunch, got fitted professionally and went home with gifted underwear and a Panache goodie bag. Can't wait to write about the event real soon!

10 Things to Smile About July

1) It's our second week of the summer holidays so my first reason to smile is that I'm so proud of Midge for how well she's done in reception and I'm really looking forward to her moving up into year 1 in September. I can't believe how much she's changed though! This photo is her first day in Reception and her last:

2) I'm smiling because I have my first practical course this Friday on Indian Head Massage. I'm nervous and hoping I pass but equally I'm looking forward to it and believe in myself.

3) I wrote this post about Excessive Blushing and had a wonderful response. So many kind comments  from lovely readers and people who actually went through the same thing. Thank you to all of you who commented. I'm really smiling about this because I think I may have made someone become aware that somebody they love very much who is still young, could be struggling with social anxiety. I really hope my story has helped.

4) I went for a swim all by myself this month and beat the anxiety which usually holds me back. I had an awesome time and hopefully, if I'm feeling better, I should be doing it again tomorrow.

6) We had a wonderful family break thanks to Trevella Park in Newquay. I had a great time and will be placing a deposit for next year as soon as I can!

7) We had a family BBQ which went really well and was a lot of fun. The weather has turned a little but I hope it's not the last, my Mum wants one for her birthday in August!

8) I now have 8 pen-pals so have a steady income of Happy Mail. Receiving happy post always makes me smile.

9) Someone I love and care about very much has landed a new job, a complete career change. I couldn't more proud of them and I hope to be less elusive about it one day soon. Especially as I have a gift planned.

10) As always, my family are happy, healthy and with me. I'll always be smiling knowing this.

What a lovely way to start August on the blog! I'm linking up with the lovely EmmyMom as usual for this link up but also with Mummy From the Heart's  Reasons to be Cheerful.

Reasons to be Cheerful

It's that time of the week again where I share some reasons that I have to be happy about my life be it big or small. I have other things going on, I'm just so tired and so lonely sometimes. I find it hard to look for the 'good things' some weeks even if they're obvious! This is a happy post though! *Bats away negative vibes*

Here are my Reasons to be Cheerful for  this week!

1) I ordered 2 night lights the other day and they turned up this afternoon. I think they're so pretty. The toadstool is for Midge and the bunny is for my very girly room (sorry hubby)...(I'm not sorry)

2) We're heading off to Plymouth next Saturday which is something to look forward to. Hubby has been working really hard all week doing overtime so we can have some extra pennies and a family day out. We'll be getting some clothes for our upcoming holiday to Cambridge. I have a feeling I'll be packing two types of clothing just in case!

3) Little A has been saying more sentences this week. He now says 'Where you gone?' and 'Where are you' which is adorable. He's still not saying much else and we're working on limiting the dummy in the daytime before nighttime just as we did for Midge.

I hope you all have some reasons to be happy this week too.

Reasons to be Cheerful

There hasn't really been much to blog about recently. Who stole the beautiful weather by the way and how much for it back? It's May! I'm all for a bit of rain, it's very important after all but come on, a little bit more sun please?

I haven't been about much but I love the Reasons to be Cheerful link up and as I have a few things to be happy about I thought I should get typing.

1) I have been receiving a lot of 'happy mail.' I love 'snail mail' (as posting letters is commonly referred to) because I can get so much out and I can show a friend I'm really thinking about them by taking the time to sit down and put pen to paper. I have been getting mail from new pen pals which is so exciting. I received this beautiful bracelet from an American pen pal.

Midge also has a pen pal now. They exchange gifts and everything it's the sweetest thing and her writing in school is coming on leaps on bounds!

2) This Saturday marks the last football game of the season which means Hubby and I can finally plan some family days out without his sports getting in the way! I love that he has a hobby, has something he enjoys doing and is good at but obviously I miss his company. It's hard to do things on a weekday as there's school and he works late shifts, so Saturday is a day to go out. Sunday is for pj's, roast dinners and maybe the park if we fancy it!

3) I passed my exam! It wasn't a hard exam but it was still an exam. I lucked out on a couple of questions by the process of elimination and others I got totally wrong (as usual the most obvious!) but I still passed and am now have an Anatomy and Physiology Level 3 Diploma. I'm looking into baby massage courses and reflexology. My vocation in life is to help people in some way. I find that by sending gifts once a month and writing surprise letters I help people but if I can help people with a therapy of some kind then that would be just great.

I hope you all have something to be cheerful about this week too. Please share it with me in the usual place :-)

Reasons To Be Cheerful

So far this week has been very good. I am absolutely freezing cold but put that to one side and I'm perfectly content with everything else! Here are my reasons to be cheerful this week.

I'm really pleased that on Monday I found some motivation to really start the de-cluttering process. The main room I want to get started on is the children's room. I finally managed to clean it up, hoover and re-arrange it. All we have to do now is get rid of an old toddler bed and re paint the walls. I love a nice tidy room!

I've been carrying on with some good deeds. I'm using my post it notes to leave little messages randomly about the place which the family are finding quite fun! I noticed a gentlemen trying to leave a local store on his rather large mobility scooter but he was in a bit of bother. Plenty of people were walking passed him and ignoring his need for help so I stepped in to move 2 heavy boxes and a stupid cat bench which were in the way! I felt good about myself that day!

There's a school trip coming up in two weeks. I love volunteering for school trips becuase the children are so pleased to get out and about. Plus, I get a free visit to an attraction I haven't been to before! My sister is also coming back in two weeks which is something to be very cheerful (and excited) about!

This Weeks Reasons To Be Cheeful

Well, the weather has turned and the school runs are a little wet to say the least! I'm very happy to have my spotty wellies which make this wet weather a lot more enjoyable. On the way home from school, Midge and I did lots of puddle jumping which set me in a rather good mood for the rest of the afternoon!

Today I got a little package of mustaches  I know, how random. I did win them though as part of a Twitter party and it's all part of the Movember fun. Anyway, there was more than enough for all of us! As you can see below:

Family fun is always a reason to be cheerful!

Little Feet. Oh I just love them! This is Little Man's step by step guide on how to successfully watch TV and find your foot (not forgetting to have a good nibble) all at the same time. Now one thing that makes me cheerful? Laughing a lot!

Finally, cake, cream and chocolate syrup. That must be a reason to be cheerful!

I Need Some Reasons to be Cheerful

With all this club business hanging over me like a big black cloud I feel a bit low. I just needed to take a moment to write a more positive post. My council are not being helpful, I've had a fairly standard letter and what I can gather really is that new owners=new chance. Wonder if the council will give me the money to move home when my mental health deteriorates (not so slowly either).

Anyway, I have some Reasons to be Cheerful, of course I do.

It's rare at the moment to see the sun but I grabbed a nice shot of it playing peek-a-boo with the clouds. A sunny day always puts a smile on my face.

I also took some flower photos as these always cheer me up. In my garden I have some Sweet Williams which i'm going to pick and bring in to brighten my home.

3. Myself and Mr had a lovely meeting with our vicar on Wednesday to make plans for the wedding. As it stands now I can crack on with my service books and it's just one step closer to finalising everything. I'm also planning the decoration tomorrow which will be great fun providing I don't become my usual wall flower and let everyone else decide anyway...

4. I got a postcard today which really, really cheered me up. Thank-you Louise.

What do you know, it got better!

I'm linking this post up with Michelle over at Mummy From The Heart. I love this meme Reasons To Be Cheerful it always brings out the best from even the worst week. And I have had a rough week. It would appear I am not alone however and while I'd like everyone to be happier and having good weeks at least I can take some comfort in not being totally alone!
Anyway enough self pity, here are my Reasons To Be Cheerful:

1) Well, the week got better! I had a fair Monday, a crap Tuesday, an awful Wednesday but woke this morning with a bit more oomph to me. I have had a much better day, have a little more positive thinking creeping back again and have had a good Thursday.

2) I posted my cake request today for the wedding. I have totally simplified the cake and feel much better for it. I don't care if i get a piece or not anymore, I just want it to look gorgeous! If I was more confident I'd make it myself, as it is my Aunt has offered to pay to have it made for us which was lovely. Another thing off the list!

3) A close friend has given me 2 pieces of wonderful news in one month and I am so happy for her and her lovely little family. We're actually pen friends but I really hope one day we'll meet! Of course I'm slightly envious of her but in the most friendliest way possible!

4) I've been doing some DIY! I put curtain hooks up, I've put up photos and framed pictures in the children's room and I'm planning to get my hands on a drill this weekend! Well, I may as well Other Half has given up on doing his manly duties so I shall be the man AND woman of this house!

That's it from me, please have a good weekend whatever you do and check out the other entries on this blog hop.

My Reasons To Be Cheerful

Nothing like a spot of positive thinking to cheer you up! This weeks reasons to be cheerful are:

1) My niece was born this week which is obviously a wonderful thing for the family. She is beautiful and has 2 very protective brothers and one very smitten older sister. Lucky girl. We all love her too.

2) I tried on my wedding dress yesterday and it is really, really lovely. There isn't much to sort out on it and it needs a little tidy up. The invites are on their out as well which is something to be pleased about. Wedding plans coming along nicely.

3) I have a great weekend planned. My sister is staying tomorrow night, on Saturday we're all going to Paradise Park for Little Mans' birthday treat then celebrating properly with family popping in and out no doubt on Sunday for his official big day.

Short and sweet today as I'm just not feeling it!
Seasider in the City is this weeks host of #RTBC so scoot on over to read some more.

1. I am really enjoying being back in crafting. It's all thanks to the Kerry of Life As I Know It and her Pinaddicts Challenge. I am now making all sorts and really enjoying myself. I can't believe it took so long to get back into it.

2. Wedding plans are coming together, look out for an update soon. Invites are almost done, just sorting out inserts. I'm finishing off my flowers tonight and look forward to a dress fitting with my Mother next week. Yey!

3. Despite being driven crazy by separation anxiety with regards to Little Man. I have been getting some very loving hugs. Who can begrudge that?

4. I'm not sure id I'm allowed a fourth but my sister is over tonight which always makes me happy!
